Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you're just joining us, we've already covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape, DUIK Ángela, and Motion Tools Classic, all worth a look. This time we're looking at a big one for anyone who does motion graphics, social content, or fast-turnaround client work. If you've ever wished you had a library of ready-made transitions and elements you could just drag into a comp, the AEJuice Starter Pack is exactly that, and it's free. Meet the AEJuice Starter PackThe AEJuice Starter Pack is a free collection of 100+ drag-and-drop motion graphics assets, delivered through AEJuice's Pack Manager panel. Instead of building common elements from scratch every time, you browse a visual library right inside After Effects, drag what you need onto your timeline, and keep moving.A nice bonus: the Starter Pack works in Premiere Pro too, so it's not just an After Effects tool. What you can do with itThe Starter Pack packs a lot into
Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you missed the earlier posts, we covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape and DUIK Ángela, both well worth a look. This time we're keeping it simple, with a small toolkit that a lot of you have probably already used without thinking about it. Motion Tools Classic is one of those tools that just quietly speeds up the boring parts of every animation. Meet Motion Tools ClassicMotion Tools Classic, from the team at Motion Design School, is the original free version of Motion Tools, the everyday animation toolkit that's been trusted by motion designers since 2017. In a world of heavy, do-everything plugins, this one goes the other way on purpose. It's a small, focused set of the tools you actually reach for every day, with nothing extra to get in the way.And it's completely free. Is there a list yet for MacOS 27 Golden Gate Compatibility with After Effects?
About 2 months ago I updated my After Effects from 24.5 to 25.5. Editing and all of that are working pretty well, but when it comes to rendering, it's super slow. When I was using the 24.5 version of AE, rendering was pretty fast, but now I have to wait over 10 minutes to render a short video of 2 minutes. I've tried multiple things: updating my drivers, clearing cache, enabling the multi-frame rendering feature, and none of these things did much. My PC specs are definitely more than good enough and it doesn't make any sense for render to be that slow, I'll list them below: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600K32GB DDR4NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Waiting for it to finish rendering is taking too much of my time away, if someone could help me with this problem that would be awesome, thanks!
Hi all, Bit of a random one that's bugged me for a while and I've never been able to figure out, hopefully somebody can help! I want to animate the scale of the characters in a text later but notice the achor point is always sitting at the bottom of each character (see image below, have circled the anchor points). I'd like to shift these achor points to the center on the text so the characters scale from the middle rather than the bottom, has anybody figured out a way to do this? Any help would be great! Many thanks!
Issue Built-in Unmult leaves residual alpha instead of producing fully transparent pixels. Steps to reproduce Create a composition. Import footage with a black background. Apply the built-in Unmult effect. Inspect the alpha channel. Expected result The alpha value should become 0 in transparent areas. Actual result A residual alpha value remains (equivalent to 1 in 8-bit). The issue also occurs in 16 bpc projects. Environment After Effects 26.0 Windows 11 Additional information This issue does not occur with third-party Unmult plugins such as Knoll Unmult or Red Giant Unmult.
Used Materials are still listed in the Project Panel when only ‘Unused’ assets should be listed.Type “Unused” in the Project Panel It still comes up even though it’s “Used 2 times”This bug exists in the latest update as well as the Beta
Hello once again. Few days ago, I have come across a weird problem / glitch / crash that occurs that has never happened before. In an After Effects project that I am doing, I am planning on making the boomerang effect. Basically, I want to put slow-motion to a clip and then duplicate it, and reverse the duplicated layer, to give it an effect similar to boomerang. But something weird happens every time I do so. I want to give boomerang effect to different parts of a video, with the frame rate of 23.978. So in my first clip, I would pre-compose it, put twixtor pro to it (I put the frame rate of the video as it is in the twixtor, which is 23.978), then pre-compose again. Then I duplicated that pre-composed layer with twixtor inside it. I moved it right next to the 1st layer, and then I what I did was : right click > Time > Time-reverse layer. It worked perfectly fine. But then, I cut to another part of the video to make the boomerang effect with and also to put twixtor. So I did the
I have project made in AE26.3 where I am using varible OpenSans font to achieve decided effects. After I updated to AE26.5 it is not working and OpenSans variable is not installed / seen by AE. Other variable fonts are, but not OpenSans. Only fixed weight variant is available. It also show missing OpenSans Roman variable - I do not know why roman, but I believe that should be the problem - wrong indentification. But until it will be fixed I have to use older version, sadly..
I’ve just upgraded to macOS 27 and, it seems, I can no longer debug a C++ plug-in I’m working on because Apple’s security blocks the debugger from attaching to After Effects. Specifically, I’m getting the following error:macOSTaskPolicy: (com.apple.debugserver) may not get the task control port of (After Effects) (pid: 5646): (After Effects) is hardened, (After Effects) doesn't have get-task-allow, (com.apple.debugserver) is a declared debugger(com.apple.debugserver) is not a declared read-only debugger LLMs recommend re-signing AE, but that does not seem to be a reasonable thing to do. I’m worried that doing so might trigger copy protection or break something. Not all issues can be solved by simply logging to files, so, what’s the suggested approach to debugging on macOS 27?
With Photoshop or Lightroom, removing unwanted objects in your frame is a breeze nowadays. I’m suggesting a similar feature for After Effects. Thank you, Rebecca, for taking notes for this idea at IBC26.I imagine it working like this:The first step is to create a mask, either manually or with the same engine as the new object mask tool in Premiere. Then, within a new floating window (as in Photoshop), you can either click to remove the object or describe a prompt for what to add. Also, there should be an option for a reference image (with an eyedropper to quickly grab a frame from the project). Maybe you can also reference a composition. There also should be an option to choose the right video model. Maybe also a button to expand/shrink the mask when the selection is very tight. This would avoid hard edges between an object to remove and the background, and the AI would give more room to work with. Removing object:When removing objects, the AI should take temporal information into acco
currently my project is just two solid layers and two text layers with no animation, my preview resolution is set to third. Despite this when I want to playback the project by pressing the space bar it just buffers/freezes and cant seem to play it back for me. I have cleared the media disk cache very often and even made it so it will use my ssd to store cache instead of my local drive? For context I have a macbook pro 2019 which I recently updated to Tahoe? its an intel core aswell which ive heard might not be good for adobe? as you can tell idk much and am not a tech person im just a graphic design graduate tryna develop my skills and get a job in this crazy job market.anyways, if anyone could help me figure out how to fix this/make my ae run a bit smoother it would be great thanks!
The Object Matte tool initially worked correctly in this project and I was able to identify and isolate several cars in the footage very accurately. After working for a while, however, it suddenly stopped functioning properly. Now, when I hover over a car, After Effects still appears to recognise the object and highlights it correctly. But when I click to confirm the selection, one of two things happens: The entire frame/layer becomes outlined in purple, as if Object Matte has selected the whole image instead of the car. Nothing happens at all and no object matte is created. The same problem can also occur when using the brush selection.I have already tried restarting After Effects, reopening the project, clearing memory and disk cache, reopening the footage in the Layer panel, switching tools, resetting preferences and trying again from frames where the tool had previously worked. None of this has resolved the issue. This is particularly frustrating because the exact same footage and
I have some mess after timeline scrubber move sometimes after update to 26.5
Why AE is still in 2026 absolutely garbage and unoptimized? Why at more than 70$ moth is still full of bugs? Why rendering is still underusing the machine? Why adobe? Why dont you destroy the program and rebuilt from zero? Years, more than 12 years working daily with it and every day I have to FIGHT with the software, every day. Every day I discover a new tricky way to solve a NEW problem.
In After Effects, there’s an option called “Notify when queue completes” when rendering. But I’m not sure how to use it, especially to get notifications on my phone.I checked the Creative Cloud mobile app, but it looks like the mobile version has been discontinued by Adobe, so I can’t receive any notifications through that.Is there any way to make this feature work, or is there an alternative method to get a notification on my phone when rendering is finished? Thanks in advance!
Title: Context menus do not stay open inside modal dialogs (macOS)SummaryOn macOS, right-clicking inside any modal dialog in After Effects causes the context menu to appear and dismiss immediately, before an item can be selected. Context menus function normally everywhere else in the application — Timeline, Project panel, Composition panel, Effect Controls, docked and floating panels. The failure is specific to modal dialogs.System- Mac mini M4 - macOS 26.6.2 (25G83)- After Effects 26.5.0 (Build 89)- Also reproduces in the current After Effects BetaSteps to reproduce1. Open any composition.2. Composition > Composition Settings.3. Left-click the Preset field4. The context menu flashes on screen and dismisses before an item can be chosen.Same result in other modal dialogs, including Output Module Settings and Render Settings.Expected resultThe context menu opens and remains open until an item is selected or the menu is dismissed.Actual resultThe menu renders and disappears on the same
Hi,I often automate Render Queue setup and ran into a limitation: scripts and C++ plug-ins cannot set the Output Color Space found under Output Module Settings > Color. This would be especially useful when the same composition has multiple Output Modules. Each module may need a different output color space, while After Effects can use the same rendered frames for all of them. Right now the only practical options are editing every module manually or maintaining separate Output Module templates, which becomes difficult to manage and can also affect unrelated format and codec settings.Could you please expose read and write access to these color settings for each Output Module through ExtendScript and the C++ SDK? It would be useful to control Output Color Space, Preserve RGB, Embed Color Profile, and the OCIO display/view when applicable. This would make color-managed render automation much simpler and help prevent exports in the wrong color space. Thanks!
Hi,Just upgraded to 25.2.2 and I am having a strange issue with adding layers its like it randomly clips or switches color space from one frame to the next. Only started happening after upgrading AE and NVIDIA.The screenshots are from the same project just different frames, as you will see it also affects the scopes. Only effect used is 'Fast Box Blur'Switching to 'Software Only' fixes the issue
Hi!In my company we are thre people with the Self-Service-Subscription But I am the only one who can’t update anymore. There is no new version in the CC, nor in the direct Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/desktop/troubleshooting/fixed-and-known-issues/fixed-issues.htmlany solution? Thanks a lot!
Motion Tracker has an issue tracking a time-manipulated layer. Make a Right-click → Render in Place before it’s too late. Pre-compose - Render - Import - Replace is 90s level solution.
Hi, really hoping someone can help me. Spent the last 4 hours trying every tutorial I can find on this and absolutely zero progress, pretty much given up.Essentially I want to create just the shape in the middle and ‘ripple’ out concentric copies so I end up with the full set of offsets. Ideally I want the shapes to be no fill/stroke but with a darker inner glow/shadow. The original shape is in Illustrator (although the image is created in Photoshop. Am assuming the best way is to create the glow/shadow effect in After Effects around the shape of the path?Everytime I try I can’t get a glow without a fill or stroke which ruins the effect.Has anyone got any suggestions? I’m pretty new with AE although used Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign for decades.Start frame – still struggling to create this in AE (this is a PSD file just to show what I’m trying to achieve)Ideal End Frame
I’ve an interesting issue. I have spent a bit of time recreating the look of AE’s expression editor as a Per Character styling expression. It’s not complete yet, but serves my purposes… but the per-frame render time add 5s each frame. And rendering out a 90 second sequence took 90 minutes. I’m wondering if there’s a way to bake the expression styling once done. Here’s the code if anyone wants to experiment:///// HEX COLOR CONFIGURATION //////var hexBase = "#D4D4D4"; // Off-whitevar hexBlue = "#3E8FE1"; // Blue (Keywords)var hexLtBlue = "#48D9FD"; // Light Blue (Numbers)var hexPink = "#F67476"; // Pink (Strings)var hexYellow = "#9D9039"; // Yellow (Brackets)var hexLightYellow = "#DCBE84"; // Yellow (reserved terms)var hexGreen = "#6A9955"; // Green (Comments)var hexCursor = "#FFFFFF"; // White (Cursor)///// Convert Hex to AE-friendly RGB [0,1]function hexToRgb(hex) { var r = parseInt(hex.slice(1, 3), 16) / 255; var g = parseInt(hex.slice(3, 5), 16) / 255; var
