Here’s the error message after attempting to access the KSV. This error occurs when accessing the KSV via shortcut or Menu. Unfortunately, I don’t have crash reports to share.  

Hi team — Starting a project per usual. Fine for the first hour or so. At a certain point the composition window freezes. Playing and scrubbing does nothing. I then quit, which freezes the app, making me Force Quit. This has been an issue in all versions of 26. Currently still causing issues on 26.2. I have 25.6.5 which continues to work well. Have cleared caches, checked disk settings, reset preferences. Any others experiencing this issue? This version isn’t usable. **Apple M2 Max96 GBMac OS Tahoe Version 26.3.1 (a) (25D771280a)

Holding Ctrl with the Anchor Point Tool snapping is a fantastic recent QOL improvement.However it isn’t fully finished.Hopefully some resource is still allocated to fixing stuff like this, where it is impossible to snap to the midpoint unless zooming in to extreme levels. see attached little game of avoid the magentic corner points! Assuming Windows display scaling is still causing problems

Sometimes when trying to select keyframes by dragging around them, the entire layer is selected and moves.This has been in the interface for a LONG time now and REALLY seems like a good thing to fix.From a QOL point of view, users need to be able to drag select keyframes.No User ever asked for a 20 pisels tolerance around a layer to selct the whole layer.I don’t know wher it originally came from but I think it has been in for over 20 years now.Attached intende behaviour, as couldn’t replicate problem

Issue : “Fill” effect and other miscellaneous pre-installed effects are entirely missing from the Effects Panel and “Manage Effects” windowAE version : 26.2OS : MacOS Tahoe 26.3.1What I did to try and fix the issue : reset Preferences uninstalled and reinstalled AE opened the “Manage Effects” window and activated all effects uninstalled and reinstalled in an older version (25.6.5)The last step allowed me to see “Fill” again in the list

After updating to After Effects 26.2, I noticed that some third-party plug-ins are showing garbled text in their UI controls.In my case, I can clearly reproduce this with plug-ins that include Chinese text, and I suspect it may also affect other non-English or non-Latin languages as well.What made me pay attention to this is the 26.2 release note saying:“Effect names are now correctly encoded for Unicode characters when accessed by third-party plug-ins.”So I’m wondering if this may be related.One detail that seems important: if I open project files that already use these third-party effects in Safe Mode (without loading third-party plug-ins), the Chinese parameter names display correctly. But in normal mode, some of those same labels appear garbled.I’m not the plug-in developer, just an end user reporting what I observed in testing, so I can’t tell whether this is an AE issue, a plug-in compatibility issue, or an interaction between both. After Effects version 26.0 freezes when I use the 3D camera with two views. After Effects version 26.0 freezes when I use the 3D camera with two views.Since version 24, After Effects has had this problem of freezing the view on two screens when using the 3D camera. At first, I thought it was due to my PC's configuration, but I recently upgraded it and the problem persists. I've reset the After Effects settings several times and it's still the same. The Perspective Offset checkbox in Turbulent Noise does not currently work. No parallax. It does wok as it should in Fractal Noise.

Hi Adobe Community,I’m experiencing an issue with Adobe Media Encoder where Hardware Encoding is not available, even though I have an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti installed.When I try to switch to Hardware Encoding in the H.264 export settings, I receive this error message:“Your system's hardware does not support hardware acceleration for the current settings.”

Intermittently, pressing the playback shortcut (Spacebar or Numpad Enter) fails to initiate a preview. On the first press, the UI appears to "stutter" but nothing happens. On the second press, the Current Time Indicator (CTI) moves back exactly one frame and playback still does not begin

After update to AE 26.2. i am facing sometimes bug that drag and move keyframes with mouse+shift does not snap even to frames nor other elements. It slide like on ice… pixel after pixel

In previous versions of After Effects I was able to load txt files with javascript variables inside into expressions with the $.evalFile() function. In the current version 26.2.0 (Build 49) this doesn’t work anymore.

Hi everyone, ever since I updated AE to version 26.0.0 I have experienced render times as much as ten times slower than it used to be in version 25.x.x. For now, I have rolled back installation to a 25 version, but I would very much like to keep up with the versions, including all new features.I read somewhere that I'm not the only one bumping into this problem.What can I do to solve it? To be clear: I can create a project in v 2026 and it renders terribly slow; when I save it as 25.x version and then switch to AE v2025 everything works at proper render times.Will there be an update for v 2026 that solves this problem?

I'm having some massive issues with Cineware in After Effects 2025 (25.3.2). Haven't submitted a ticket for Maxon yet because I think it's something wrong on my end, but can't figure it out. Whenever I import even the most basic .c4d scene file into AE (made not only with Cinema 2025.3.2 but with any 2025 Cinema version) I'm unable to open it into a comp with crashing. If I drag the .c4d file to the button to create a new comp, it'll simply crash with this following last log message: <######> <BEE_MiscTasks> <5> Set Artisan Task: Classic 3DIf instead I try right-clicking the .c4d file and select New Comp from Selection, I get the following error message first: "After Effects error: Error during event PF_Cmd_EVENT Code (PF_Err_INTERNAL_STRUCT_DAMAGED) : GlobalData image was nullptr during DrawEvent(512) ( 25 :: 101 )"I've reset preferences, uninstalled, reinstalled etc etc. And not only that, I'm getting this exact same error across multiple machines:2022 Mac Studio /

Hi,Just upgraded to 25.2.2 and I am having a strange issue with adding layers its like it randomly clips or switches color space from one frame to the next. Only started happening after upgrading AE and NVIDIA.The screenshots are from the same project just different frames, as you will see it also affects the scopes. Only effect used is 'Fast Box Blur'Switching to 'Software Only' fixes the issue

Issue - When trying to open the colorspace options in After Effects 26 Project Settings on a second monitor attached to my MacBook menu I am unable to scroll up or down to select more colorspaces. When I bring the same window on to my MacBook’s monitor, the colorspace options immediately closes when clicked on, selecting whatever colorspace my cursor was over. If I hold down the mouse button I can hold the menu open, but I can not scroll. Steps to reproduce - Open project settings > Color > Colorspace - can not scroll up or down to see other options - the pop out menu of color spaces exceeds the screen. Expected result - A scrollable menu of color spaces to choose from. Actual result -  the pop out menu of color spaces exceeds the screen, or instantly closes after opening unless holding mouse1. Issue   -- Can’t use “Shift + \” as a keyboard shortcut for split comp viewer and lock without breaking the ability to type “|||||||||”  Steps to reproduce: ​​​​​​​Set New locked comp viewer to “SHIFT + \” New Type Layer Attempt to type the characters --- ||||   Expected result - Type layer takes precedent and types out |||||||. I am unable to change the brush settings when using the RotoBrush or the Clone Stamp tool. All Brush options are completely greyed out. This is a consistent and repeatable bug for me. This bug exists when operating in Safe Mode.   There is a workaround – if I select the Paint Brush tool, adjust the brush size, and then switch back to RotoBrush or Clone Stamp, the brush options become adjustable again. It's annoying, but I could live with it, except sometimes switching between the two will cause AE to crash (the crash is not consistent, nor am I able to predictably repeat it).  It's a small bug, but a bug nonetheless.  I am using AE 25.5.0 build 4 on a M1 Max Macbook Pro with 64GB RAM running macOS 15.6 (Sequoia). 

Every now and then i’ll try to use lumetri on a jpg or footage in After Effects and i’ve seen it do destructive things to the footage or image. Today I added lumetri to a jpg on layer 2 and it stretched it out. see attached screenshots (“before” and “after” images below to see what I mean). so i precomped the jpg and then tried to apply lumetri and it immediately stretched out again. Not sure what is causing this but I’ve seen lumetri do weird stuff to my footage before. cant say how long i’ve noticed this issue. but i’ve stopped using lumetri altogether because of this issue surfaces a few times and now i just use colorista. I’m on After EFfecst 25.6.4 (build 3). Sometimes i have to hand off these projects to a company that isnt using 2026 so I have to use 2025. pretty sure ive seen this issue in other versions too. Mac oS Tahoe 26.3.1 (a). adding a simple lumetri filter to a layer should not be causing it do such wild things. hope this can be fixed.

As of AE version 26.0.0 renders that should be rendered to an interlaced format end up as incorrect.The duration of the export is correct, though the content is playing at 200% and the rest is filled with a solid black (No transparancy)This workflow has worked for me for 20+ years. The kerning of a font with an animated variable is determined by the currently selected instance in the drop-down menu not the instance of the animated variable. I am a font designer trying to animate variable font changes in After Effects. When you add an animator for a variable font axis, the kerning data for that font does not change with the animator. Say for example, if you have an upright style selected from the style drop-down, if you, with the animated variable change the value to slanted, the program will still use the kerning values from the upright instance.

I'm new to After Effects 2026. I pressed the space bar to check the image to produce a simple video, but it won't play. I looked up the shortcut bar and configuration settings, but I can't find an answer. After searching, people said that this was a bug. Please give me a solution to this situation. I only have three days.

Creating a new ticket for this issue:Started a dialogue with @JohnColombo17100380 about how the 24.0 After Effects no longer read as a window by time tracking software like Timely. I've emailed Timely about the issue and they have confirmed it's a bug on the Adobe side.
