What you can do with itDUIK brings the kind of rigging tools you'd expect from a 3D application - IK, controllers, bones, constraints, and adapts them for 2D animation in AE. Once you've got a character rigged, you can pose and animate them li

Welcome to a new series where I'll be sharing free After Effects resources from across the web. A huge thanks to the creators and communities who give their time to build plug-ins and scripts that make our work faster, easier, and more fun. First up: Camera Crew, a free tool from Motion ApeCamera Crew is a powerful script that makes managing 3D cameras in After Effects feel effortless. It handles the fiddly stuff for you. Setting up camera rigs, assigning targets, smoothing transitions, auto-focus, and camera roll, so you can focus on the shot, not the setup. Built-in auto movement adds gentle, lifelike drift, and customizable shake presets give you that handheld, in-the-moment feel in a couple of clicks. Download it here: Camera Crew on Motion Ape Watch the official walkthrough: Camera Crew – Free Advanced Camera Tool for After Effects While you're there, be sure to explore the other free tools Motion Ape has to offer. I figured it out
So for context I was fixing some things in a somewhat recent project, I was met with the "After Effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {no current context}". I tried everything that was recommended, clearing cache, resetting preferences, starting in safe mode, nothing worked, the timeline had nothing loading, only when hovered on. I decided to check other projects and all of them are having the same problem, the message doesn't show up but the timeline is non-existent, when I try to play the video there's no preview, audio plays for a while if there is any, but after that the program crashes and the only thing I can do is send a crash report.I did check if it could be a potential problem with my external drive, but projects inside my internal SSD with internal footage had the same problem. I recorded a small video of the timeline problem in real time.I use a 2024 M4 Macbook with 16GB of RAM
HI:I’m working on a facial rig. All the elements are shape layers. I want to drive the eyebrows with Nulls that control the path. I made the face shapes a few days ago. Today I went in selected the layer. Opened its contents and selected path. Then I went to Windows>Create Nulls From Paths and selected Points Follow Nulls. I got an error message stating, “Error: No paths selected.” Huh? There is a path selected. I went and created a new shape layer, set down a new path and tried to run the script again and it worked. Why is the older layer not functioning as expected?
right click on the Comp Window header > Enable Auto-keyframe: Why is this Stop Watch not visible all the time to toggle on/off?thanks for reading and thumbs up 🙂
As seen in this image, the rect boundary of the right and bottom edges are not correctly displayed - there are gaps between the visual presence of pixels and the rect boundary. This is a critical issue that affects solutions that require pixel-perfect layouts. This issue affects a few 3D Mesh Types. It will be good to know, early, if this will be resolved or if this is an as-designed feature so that I and others who find this issue to be debilitating can look at alternative solutions.TIA.
I’m a Video Editor who edits for fun, specifically using After Effects 2020. I edit on an HP laptop, with an AMD RYZEN processor. Whenever I make video edits, when I zoom out into a black background/no background (specifically while editing pictures), I see some weird lines that sort of act as motion tile near my footage. This only happens if I am editing in a way where I am using no motion tile or reflect in my transitions.I have tried multiple effects and methods, as well as different settings to try to help but nothing helps.I’ve tried adding a black solid layer in the background, adding slight motion tile, etc. I am wondering if the cause for this is the After Effects settings/version itself, or my Laptop (settings/model). I have had other versions of After Effects, and I have had 2020 before on a different laptop but never faced this issue. I will include photos as an example:
I’ve only been using AE for a year or so. Usually doing the same thing, special effects with video and graphics over a music track. Over 100 videos, never had a problem. This time my pre comp is 10m 50, shows as 10m 50 in the file info, when I play MP4 on QuickTime Player it’s 10m 50 but it shows as about 9m when I imported the MP4 into the main project. Which throws all of my effects out of sync with the music. I should add that I’m using the MP4 more than once in the total project.Also, for info, the project was giving my iMac a hard time with all of the effects which is why I rendered the pre comp and imported it back in.I always use standard settings in the Media Encoder. The main video in the comp is the same FPS as the pre comp. I’m at a loss. I’m not sure which other screenshots would help.I hope this makes sense……...Can anybody help me please?
The user selects or imports a screenshot containing text. The panel analyzes the letterforms in the image. It searches for visually similar fonts. It displays the closest matches and allows the user to apply or activate the selected font in After Effects.Its Match font, but in after effects.
Since updating to the new Adobe 2026 release, interacting with the "Color Profile Converter" effect causes the application to crash instantly to the desktop without any error message or warning. I cannot apply the "Color Profile Converter" to any new layers. Worse, I cannot open ANY existing projects that already have this effect applied. The program instantly crashes upon loading the project. Steps to Reproduce: Scenario A (New Project): Open Adobe 2026. Create a new composition and add any layer (solid, footage, etc.). Apply the "Color Profile Converter" effect to the layer. Result: Instant crash to desktop. Scenario B (Existing Project): Try to open an existing project file that contains the "Color Profile Converter" effect. Result: The software crashes instantly during the project loading phase. My System Specifications: Adobe Version: Adobe 2026 (v26.3.0) Operating System: Windows 11 (25H2) Processor (CPU): i7 - 12700 RAM: 64GB Graphics Card (GPU): 4070 SUPER (la
Ever wished you could smoothly round the corners of a Mask Path like you can with a Shape Layer? Now you can with a simple slider. This video is in 2 parts. In the first minute or so, I show the script in action. Just draw a mask on your layer, then run the script and adjust the roundness value. And that's all you need! But, if you're curious how I did it, I then talk you through the code, breaking down each element so you can gain an understanding as to what's possible when you mix path points, the Kappa constant and createPath();
I’d love to see a method added to the scripting API to be able to run the Dependencies > Collect Files command, with its various options.A bonus would be if you’re also (optionally) able to zip up the contents of the collect via scripting (as described in this linked post).
When collecting files via Dependencies > Collect Files, I often have to then provide the output of that as a .zip file.It would be helpful if there were an option in the Collect Files dialog to choose to zip up the contents of the collect (either instead of the collect folder, or in addition to it).
Something that happens EVERY time we use EXR sequences in After Effects, we have to right-click on the footage (there is no File menu equivalent)Interpret Footage->Main and then select the color tab and "Preserve RGB". It would be super helpful to be able to set these values in these sub tabs with a script event that can be accessed with the scripting language or Automation Blocks system.
Dynamically being able to set the height and width of a text layer iwth an expression will simplify and reduce layers and comps in complex projects, imporving Render and organization challenges. thanks!
I'm having an issue with shadows when 3D objects are animated using Advanced 3D renderer and an Environment Light in After Effects. When the objects move, the shadow stutters/jumps instead of animating smoothly, even though all rendering settings in the Advanced 3D menu are set to maximum."
Hello. So I've been using after effects for about 4 months and had no issues while using it. But now, after about 2 minutes of opening it, it says if i want to save or don't save my file. I find this confusing because I didn't even close the window it shuts down by itself. I've even tried re-installing the plugins, clearing my memory and disk cache and now I'm looking at updating or re-installing after effects. I'm using After Effects 2025.0. My specs are 16GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon graphics card. If you can respond back with a solution that will be great.
Summary:After Effects crashes (process terminates immediately, no dialog) when interacting with the CC Particle World effect's spatial parameters — specifically when manually editing a Point control (e.g. Producer Point) or when adding/editing an expression on any parameter of this effect. Other similar particle effects (CC Particle Systems II, Trapcode Particular, Trapcode Stardust) do not reproduce this issue under identical actions.Steps to reproduce:Create a new composition, add a solid layer. Apply Effect → Simulation → CC Particle World. In Effect Controls, expand the effect's Producer Point (or any Point-type parameter). Either: (a) manually adjust/enter values for the point, or (b) right-click the parameter → Add Expression, and type any expression (e.g. value). After Effects crashes immediately.Expected result: Parameter updates normally, or expression is applied without issue.Actual result: Application terminates immediately (no error dialog shown to the user).Windows Event V
