After Effects

Hi all,when trying to change the scale of a selected layer using the property panel, I also change another layer scale. It looks like the property panel has two layers selected even if I select one layer only. It also doesn't matter which layer I have selected because it keeps working on the same 2 layers. Hopefully you can see it in this ugly screeen recording. Sorry I'm in a rush.  

I’m working in linear ACEScg and I’m having an issue with AE motion blur clipping the highlights of footage when it’s active and the layer is set to ADD. The elements are interpreted correctly and works just fine until motion blur is enabled. I have the element on black in the examples below. You can see the scopes on the left where the motion blur is off has very bright highlights, and when the Motion blur is on those same highlights get clipped. Luckily, Lighten does work in these shots, but Add should not be clipping source. the only change is that Motion blur is enabled. This should not be happening.  

So these previews have twixtor in them, the video and the twixtpr is 30 fps but the composition is set to 60 fps, whenever I played the preview I see this random frame glitch, plzz help me

Why AE is still in 2026 absolutely garbage and unoptimized? Why at more than 70$ moth is still full of bugs? Why rendering is still underusing the machine? Why adobe? Why dont you destroy the program and rebuilt from zero? Years, more than 12 years working daily with it and every day I have to FIGHT with the software, every day. Every day I discover a new tricky way to solve a NEW problem. 

Hi there,I have a problem with my After Effects project. Whenever I move forward or back in the timeline, this error message comes up. I can not work properly on the file anymore, but I urgently need to export some plexus effects as SVGs and work in it. Can someone help me how to fix the mistake?Regards Stephan

I recently updated Ae to version 25.2.  My current projects were all defaulted to automatically open with version 2024. I went into my settings (using Mac OS 14.5) and changed to 2025 as default, but when I tick the box to "change all" it forces the Beta version as the default.  How can I make the 2025 version the default? This used to work, I feel like it's an issue with this update?

I work for a company with specific brand elements to use. These has been in my library for years at this point, added as vectors. I was always able to drag them into AE and create shapes out of them using the “create shapes from vector layer” option. For a month now, whenever I do try to do that, all of the shapes turn into a square - not leaving any traces of the original (sometimes intricate) design, no matter how deep I try to dig into AE.I tried installing an older version of AE, tried reinstalling the new one - nothing seems to be working. I did not edit the library in any way, the elements are fully vector/working perfectly fine in all other adobe apps. I end up having to import the shapes I already created out of the same elements from my previous AE files, which affects my productivity. Any advice on how to tackle that? 

first: it’s cool we can now import scg :-) I really often get logos in svg. but:the svg imports as one frame long comp in 30fps.my settings for sequenzes are 25fps. I just need the svg as a logo for a duration of 7 sec.Now I have to deep dive into the comp, change the lengh, the fps and it’s not so coolI would like to get the option to import the svg just like a jpg or any ober picture.

I want to select all paths on an SVG layer. If I enter this parameter path in the search, groups and other unnecessary positions are displayed. How to display only the parameter that I need? This is necessary in order to select all paths and move them to another group or to another layer. I just don't want to select each one manually, because there are a lot of them in SVG, so I would like to find a solution and quickly select them all to move them to one group or to another layer. I know there are scripts for this, but I don't like to use third-party scripts because they accumulate, and there will be a lot of them on the screen, and it will be distracting. Nothing happening when I’m trying to use Object Mask tool in AE Beta

I am experiencing severe performance issues in After Effects 2026 with my brand new high-end system. Hi, I’m new to AE and I was wondering if there was a way for me to combine all of these mask into one mask. I am trying to animate this image from top to bottom but since there are multiple mask it is animating it sequentially. Alternatively is there a way to prevent multiple mask from being created when tracing a complex image?

Hello Adobe After Effects Team,I would like to report a reproducible issue that appears in newer versions of After Effects when using the GeoLayers 3 plugin.SummaryProjects that contain GeoLayers 3 compositions work normally in After Effects 24, but when the exact same project is opened in After Effects 25 or 26, After Effects displays PNGIO errors and the map fails to load.Error messages After Effects: AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: PNGIO library error: bad adaptive filter value (5027::12) After Effects: AEGP Plugin PNGIO Support: PNGIO library error: IDAT: CRC error (5027::12) These errors appear when the GeoLayers map tiles are loaded.Key observation The same project file works perfectly in AE 24. I am trying to create a video that is a seamless loop in both the visual and audio. After I export the file from after effects, the visual plays in a seamless loop, but the audio does not - there is a tiny space of silence in between. I imported the file into Adobe Premiere, along with the original audio file, and the waveforms are different. There is silence at the beginning and end of the waveform in the After Effects file, in addition to the waveform being slightly off throughout. I cannot figure out why AE is doing this or how to fix it. Any insights are greatly appreciated!

The 2 images i will add here are a wide to a medium shot of my film. The background is 4K and there’s no problem to scale into the different shots (wide, close-up etc). However the animated characters are .mov files and if I was to simply take the composition as a whole and scale in (which would be so easy and great!) -the characters lose a significant amount of quality.If I parent the characters to the footage they will scale but at the scale they are already at in the wide shot -so for example -a character in image 1 above -the wide -might be at 30%. When I parent to the footage, the character will scale up but stay at 30% so not as good quality.  What I’ve been doing is scaling everything separately with key frames -for each shot -which takes a long time with all the above characters! There must be a better way -can anyone help?!

There’s this very specific bug that has been happening to me since the later versions of After Effects 2025 and it’s still present on the latest 2026 release.I do a lot of transcriptions on Premiere, then convert those to captions, then convert those captions to graphics, and finally copy the graphics layers from Premiere to After Effects. This is a workflow that I’ve been doing for a while without any issues.These graphic layers are interpreted in After Effects as compositions with text layers inside. And this behavior is still true.But since later versions of After Effects 2025 (up to the current release of 2026), whenever there’s a line break (only on the first line of text) in this layer that comes from Premiere, the rest of the text just disappears. It’s still selectable and reappears if I remove the line break or convert the text layer from the original paragraph text to point text, but I just preferred if this wouldn’t happen in the first place.I’m on a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro.
