These keys are defined in files named cmds.cfg, wincmds.cfg and mathcmds.cfg which are located your user area %appdata%\Adobe\FrameMaker\vv\Workspaces (vv being the FM version - 17 for FM-2022).
A special notation is used there. See https://www.daube.ch/docu/files/etb-customising-fm14up.pdf page 18ff.

I assume that you want to use this character in a string: no problem if the Default ¶ font contains this character:
If - however - you need it as a variable, then you need to follow the advice on https://www.daube.ch/docu/fmaker15.html
or https://www.daube.ch/docu/files/compendium.pdf#page=404

In FM all lines of a pragraph have the same vertical space usage.
IMHO You would need to split the paragraph into two and then define Space Before fo the second part ("Otto Ralf ...) to fit your desire.

IMHO there should be no problem to just open the *.fm files in a new(est) version of FM. You may get error messages concerning fonts, but that's harmless. I can open even FM 4 files in FM-15l (which was issued 2019) and also in FM-17 (issued 2022).

Yes, copying from PDF indlucdes the whole page contents...
As far as I know it is possible to include/attach any file to a PDF. This could be a text file with the code.

FMjsxLib as described on https://www.daube.ch/docu/fmaker88.html has now reached version 1.8.
It comprises about 240 functions, mostly accompagnied by a demo script. The documentation is about 380 pages (of which 70 are a Table of FrameMaker commands).
► For the time being I will not continue work on this project.

When aligning, the lat thing you select is the "reference" to which you align:
Select the inner circle
hold Schrift and select (click on) the next item
hold shift and select the reference item
Use Graphics > Align (ESC, g, a) to get a dialogue to specify the desired alignment or use the appropriate button in the Alignment Tool bar.

Unfortunately app.scheduleTask() is not available in FMs ES engine...
The same holds for system.CallSystem().
So IMHO the only (possible) solution may go along the following idea:
Schedule a task outside of FM by means of the Windows Task Scheduler. The task, however can not interfere with FM besides opening it (probably with a specific document). This document may run a script by means of a hyptertext command message openfile script-path (see FMjsxLib.pdf , "Invoking script by Hypertext command"). But alas, even this requires a user intervention, as it aks whether you really want to execute the script...
Conclusion: ES implementation in FM is meager.

You all do know that engineers love diagrams - and some also love nomograms - and I am such a person.
Since long time I wanted to provide nice logarithmic scales in this project. It happened now which allows me to close the project. See daube.ch/docu/fmaker82.html
There is now also a function (and panel) to create arbitrary scales (e.g. quadratic, trigonometric). Examples of DrawLogScale:
Or here the well known Ohm's law:

IMHO you anchor the MiniTOC at the beginning of the line "Usisng this Manual"
delete the minitoc
add an empty paragraph where you want to place it
Insert thr minitoc at the beginning of this paragraph

Hi Pierret,
It's not clear what you mean by "I have 12.25 : between 12 and 25".
Do you mean a value of 12 and a quarter?
Or do you mean " a value between 12 and 25"?
If you you can 'only' write 12,25 in the preference panel: the decimal separator (comma or period) is defined in the operating system locale under Time & Date etc. This can not be set in FrameMaker.
For 2) I would werkte "a value of 12 … 25".

Not a reply, just a translation by Deepl:
Selecting using the Shift key in FM2022 causes it to freeze. New Here , 2 hours ago Nice to meet you, I have found various errors with FM2022, one of which is that when I want to make a large selection, I use the Shift key to select from the start point to the end point. As soon as you do that action, the FM2022 freezes and requires a forced shutdown. Do other people have such symptoms?
My answer: I have never noticed this behaviour, neither in FM-17 (2022) nor older versions.

FrameMaker starts saving as PDF and shows its dialog box with the current step. However, at some point FrameMaker stops and does not proceed.
In the last days this was at: Postprocessing PDF document
Today at: Removing empty tags
Then I have to close FrameMaker with the task manager.
I'm not working much with FM-17, but the same phenomenon is common for me in FM-16 and FM-15. It happens less often if I delete an existing pdf which I want to update with a new generation (in the Save dialogue i can delete the existing pdf it is there..)

Randolph, since these texts might be used in various documents I suggest to do it this way:
- Create one or more short documents containing conditions, disclaimer, legal stuff etc.
- Import into the appropriate 'sub-document' into the main document where it shall appear. See compendium, page 359 ff about Text insets.

Assuming you are looking for coloring a piece of text with a colour which is is not already defined in FM:
Define a new colour with View > Color > Definitions and apply this to the selected text with the character designer (CTRL+d).
If you need this colour at various places in the document, define character style just containing this colour (in the character designer).
Find basic procedures in the Help files...

Your questions were:
How do I remove the total number of pages of content in a 26-page template file? The content can also be removed, leaving a file of up to 10 pages with styles, paragraphs, etc.
In that case, can I not find anywhere in an instruction how to insert, say, 10 blank pages (left and right) based on, say, the template described above?
IMHO you show body pages in the screen shot. Hence:
to remove an arbitrary number of successive pages: Put the cursor at the start of the text which you want to remove. Hold SHIFT while you click at the end position to select all what you want to remove. Use the Del key to remove.
Blank pages per so do not exist in FM. You may have several empty paragraphs with the property "start on top of page". This will look like the corresponding number of empty pages.

If you want to stay with the Find method:
Russ Ward created the term "lets jimmy the text range" in his post. Although his post is for replacement, the method to go forward is the same for searching.

It's my guess, that
textRange = doc.Find(textRange.beg, findParams);
Does not advance the start point for the next search and you always find the same item..
(I have not access to my own search scripts now to give a better advice).

Hi Mary Jane,
I have just tested with FM 17.0.2.431 Save As PDF of my file fm17-details1.fm:
The first attempt created a pdf containing only the icons from the welcome screen and FM quit unexpectedly. This may be a quirk of my system.
The second attempt created a correct PDF with all sorts of hyperlinks (in miniTOC, to URLS, in cross references)

These are text lines - a graphic object which can not receive paragraph formats. And you can only select and copy into FrameMaker's ordinary text frames. From there you can copy and paste to another app such as a text editor.
