Actually, this finally solved it for me. So our story in short: - Get the nMP - See artefacts in exports & preview-monitor - problems get worse with 10.9.3 - have apple downgrade our system to 10.9.2 and having a clean install of all applications - still have problems - install 10.9.4 after it was released - still have problems - talk to apple and get them to send us a new nMP. Once that arrived we installed CC, had no issues anymore and sent the old nMP back to apple. Free of charge that is. Though i felt very frustrated at times, i was very happy with the apple support eventually. Once we got to talk to the right people, they were quick to offer solutions even though we were far beyond the two weeks. dappermedia did they switch the graphics chip? seems like the most likely source of your issue. JesseSchluntz I suggest you try to get apple to replace your machine. I don't know what caused the problem, perhaps a combination of hard- and software, but this did solve things for us. You're not alone, EditorPete. I am having the same situation: Rendering R3Ds with Media Encoder through Premiere - getting horizontal lines that shouldn't be there. We've had this in 10.9.2 through 10.9.4 with various degrees. Reading that most had their issues resolved I arranged for my MacPro to be replaced, suspecting a hardware failure. Hey Boru, thanks a lot for the suggestions! I went through all your recommended steps to make sure the issue is not on my end. Cleared my cashes, fixed the disk permissions, reset my preferences, created a new project to ensure no old render files excist, shut off my machine for several times (including unplugging it)... I used other files this time, just to make sure it is not the files causing it (though they rendered finde without GPU). And AGAIN issues... Thank you very much, for your suggestions though! Hey BobanskyBh, it is not restricted to any file or codec... Originally I transcoded a R3D file to ProRes, but other file formats are affected as well. It is though restricted to GPU render. If I turn that off, the files render just fine, though painfully slow! This example used the Media Encoder for rendering (I queued the file from within Premiere). I didn't use any plugin. This example is the file (not even a sequence) rendered with a Lumetri LUT applied from the export menu, but even without that the lines are occurring. I'm thankful for any idea you might have! ... Again: WARNING! The update did NOT fix it for me. I uploaded a short demo of an export showing the issue: Dropbox - Export Test.mp4 Make sure to download the clip, instead of viewing it in Dropbox, as the preview is massively compressed. If you download the clip, you'll notice the thin horizontal artifacts. Many here seem to experience better results with 10.9.4 - sadly not us. They had to swipe our system clean... And sadly we just found lines in a video we exported.... So 10.9.2 is NOT a fix after all... What I hate most is the fact that you have to check EVERY frame... imagine not seeing the corrupt frames and sending it off to a client -.- ... View more

Since I don't have access to the beta or a time machine backup of version 10.9.2 I got our Apple Store to install a fresh copy of that version on our machine. It did solve our problems. We sure won't update till we know for sure that the update doesn't introduce the issue again... ... View more

Thanks for dipping in! Sadly we've had trouble without using any 3rd party plugins from the day our nMP arrived. 10.9.3 did introduce some new issues, but we sure had the horizontal lines before. I second your call to open support tickets to the users, who haven't done so already. ... View more

Hey Mark, yes we did clear cache files and render previews. Not solved at all... No problems when rendering with FCP X though.... For us, the only workaround right now is to disable Open CL, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a workhorse machine like the Mac Pro with dual GPU AMD FirePro D700... Yes, the promblem remains after updating to 7.2.2 Talking to Apple, they say they have no idea what might cause this. I tried some renders with FCP X, just to see, and they seem to work just fine. It did not solve this issue! We are having the same issues, not only with H.264, but with ProRes as well... We REALLY need a solution to this. Though I am not sure the problem is with Adobe...
