maria, To go along with my previous post that list all the links I just noticed I had this email from Google Chrome. Gerald Clark via Chromebook Central Help Forum <chromebook-central+APn2wQeKAvn2jVsbXATKH16Rd1sXRmpP8jgxHcQweF17d@googleproductforums.com> 12/31/17 (11 days ago) to Chromebook Java and Java Script are two different things. Chromebooks have never supported Java, but do support Java Script. It is Flash that is going to be phased out by 2020.

maria, My system is not compromised. I run scans every day. Please see: Fake Flash update installs feared banking Trojan - NBC News Fake Flash Player Scam Targets Mac Users - Technology & science - Security | NBC News Fake Adobe Flash Update Installs Ransomware, Performs Click Fraud | Symantec Connect Remove "Update Flash Player" or "Update Java" fake alerts (Help Guide) Mac Users Attacked Again by Fake Adobe Flash Update | The Mac Security Blog https://www.imore.com/another-psa-again-malware-disguised-adobe-flash-targeting-macos This is just a small amount of the information on Flash Player and Java security issues. Enough problems exist that most browsers either restrict or will stop supporting both by 2020.

Maria, It pops up out of no where. I will be on another web page and it pops up. I believe on top of the open web page. If it comes up again I will take a closer look and let you know what the URL is when the pop up comes up.

I believe what you are telling me but I am telling you that the screen pops up out of no where. I have not clicked on anything. I know it is fake. You need to do something about it. Change the screen. The real Adobe Flash Player screen. I can not be the only one this is happening to. Thank you for your help, TomS

When I download a new version it does download onto my computer but does not show up as a SWF (Small Web Format) or widget or pop up when I check for updates, and it does not do that all the time. Some times it does show up.

I have Flash Player on my computer as you can see by the screen shots. So one minute it does not show the SWF (Small Web Format) and then the next minute it does. SOMETIMES! As you can see by the screen shot taken right after the first one. So, I HAVE Flash Player installed on my Windows 7 SP1 with IE11 desktop and the SWF (Small Web Format) of the version will not pop up when I click on check for updates, and then it will pop up. Thank you, TomS

PLEASE! I am not going to click on anything on the screen that I believe to be fake. Once again, it is not an update notification. It is an installation in progress pop up. YOURS. The one with the blue progress bar in the middle.

I am not going to do a screenshot as my experience with this stuff tells me not to close out or click on ANYTHING on the screen, but to use Ctrl, Alt, Delete to shut down the computer. You don't need a screen shot. I am telling you it is the Flash Player installation pop up with the blue progress bar in the middle that just pops up out of no where. It is NOT a FLASH PLAYER UPDATE NOTIFICATION. Also there is no update. My Flash Player is up to date.

The ABOUT flash player web page is not showing the current version of Flash installed on my computer. It shows all the versions available but not the current version. It used to show a little square that said you had a certain version and I believe it told you if it was out dated. The current version was sometimes a little late in popping up on that page and now it doesn't show at all. It does show on the Flash Player Manager page. Here is a screen shot of the ABOUT page. Thank you, I am using Windows 7 SP1 with IE11 TomS

I am getting a pop up of Flash Player installation even though I have not clicked on anything to start an update or installation. I just had this happen and it was when I was on Facebook. I use Ctrl, Alternate, Delete to shut down the computer when this happens and do not touch anything on the screen, like clicking on the X to close. What is going on? Has anyone had this problem? Thank you, TomS Windows 7 SP1 with IE11

I am trying to watch a TV program on my Windows 7 SP 1 IE 11 (version 11.0.9600.18837) computer that has Adobe Flash Player (version 27.0.0.187) installed. IE Add-on Shockwave Flash Object is enabled. The program is on ABC TV and the program will not load. Instead I get a notice saying that "The content requires a browser that supports HLS". See screen shot from ABC. I have emailed ABC and they tell me that they can not help as it is a browser problem and that I should use Google Chrome. E mail from ABC Jake (abcsupport) Nov 27, 4:12 PM PST Hi there, It's great that you've enabled everything in your web browser, but again the browser you're using (by the looks of the screenshot you sent, Internet Explorer) is cycling out Flash, which is why that issue is happening when you use that browser. Again, since this was a change made on the browser side of things there isn't anything we can do to change this, so moving forward we recommend using Google Chrome as it currently still supports Flash at 100%. Thank you for your understanding, Jake ABC Technical Support Visit us at: www.ABC.com Can you help me with this problem? Thank you, TomS

This morning when I turned on my computer before I went to the internet I got a pop up saying there was a new version of Adobe Flash Player. I did not do anything from this pop up but went to the control panel, Adobe Flash Player and checked for updates from there. It seems I have the newest version 11.8.800.174 already installed. What is the story with the pop up? has anyone had the same issue? Thank you, TomS

Pat Willlener, Thank you. I see you have that opion when you go straight to the download on the Adobe website, but I do not recall haveing that option when I got an automatic update notice from Flash Player and used the "update now" button. Is that right? Thanks again, TomS

Whenever I do a Adobe Flash Player update the Google Chrome and Toolbar download with the Flash Player update. Is there anyway to stop this from happening before the fact, rather than having to remove the two Google programs after the download? It is very annoying and also sneaky on Adobe and Google's part! I am using Windows 7 with IE10. I do not have Google Chrome. Thank you, TomS
