After spending 6 or 8 hours searching for solutions, making adjustments, restarting the computer, attempting the installation, and repeating the cycle over and over, I finally was able to get the software to install successfully. Somewhere along the line I do remember setting the Windows Module Installer to Manual (it seems to me it was disabled). I'm not sure if the last thing I did was responsible for correcting the issue or if it was a combination. However, I am posting what I did just prior to the successful installation because it may help someone else avoid several hours of frustration. Clear the transaction log: Open command prompt in Administrator mode Type the following: fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\ [enter] Restart the system Repair the Microsoft windows Installer Open command prompt in Administrator mode Type the following: sfc /SCANNOW [enter] When the system scan completes, type msiexec /unreg [enter] Type msiexec /regserver [enter] Reinstall Acrobat After the above steps, the Acrobat installation ran through to completion.
