Well no, not still a problem - I've just stopped using DW at all. I just came across the notification while clearing out my inbox yesterday and replied before I thought about how irrelevant it was Interestingly though, in that screenshot you've included, the line spacing is what I would call fine - but for me it's not. Are you on a Mac - it might be a Mac/PC difference? Check out how cramped mine is:

Or.... my personal preferences are different to yours. I'm obviously using hyperbole when I say that 14pt is gigantic - but also, that suggestion doesn't address the issue in hand, which is the ratio of font size to spaces between the lines.

Bummer. 11pt is exactly the height I want for the font itself (14 is gigantic for me ), but the leading is just awful. It's not the end of the world as mostly I don't use DW for coding (mainly because of things like this), but I was hoping to swap back because my current choice (Brackets) doesn't do autocomplete quite as well. I have to admit "You can't" isn't the answer I was hoping for, but I suppose technically my question has an answer.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can tell me if I can change the default line height in the code view? I've switched to Lucida Console because I find Courier new a hideous choice for a coding font, but it looks the leading is some kind of fixed rather than a relative value. So since Lucida Console at 11pt is taller than Courier New at 11pt, the leading is now tiny and headache-inducing. I haven't been able to find anything on this, googling just throws up a bunch of articles on CSS and Design View, of course 😕

Just using XD for the first time and wondering a little about the set up. Is there any way to set it up so the Symbols and Layers, and the panel on the right (not sure what it's called) can be undocked and moved? I have two monitors and I always like to undock all my panels and stick them on one screen so the artboard is basically all by itself on the other.

I've not heard of LavaSoft, so it definitely wasn't that. I ran the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool this morning and I'm back in business with DW 2015. I legitimately ended up downloading KomodoEdit as an alternatively to using Notepad for the work I had to do yesterday, though - I was a bit cross about that. But there's the ongoing issue - how long do you/can you realistically continue to use an outmoded version of a product because the new one is unsuitable? And yet those Find & replace changes for me are a complete deal breaker.

Actually I installed KomodoEdit because I had some urgent work I needed to do and I'd already lost 40 minutes on this Today I have a bit more time on my hands and so I'm going to look into it in more detail. I will probably start there, thanks for the link.

What has happened to find??? I use "Find all" within current pages reasonably frequently, how it is set up now doesn't allow even remotely the same process, and is much more time consuming. i was going to ask some questions about configuring panels, etc, so I could work out how to set it up how I like it to be laid out, but for the time being I'm just going to revert to the previous version. Just generally though, seems like the panels don't dock to all sides (eg, the right side) like they used to - is this correct? Mod Note: Underlined was added to remove a profanity

Hi everyone, I'm not very familiar with BC, so I'm having a bit of trouble getting my head around the anatomy of it. Basically what is happening here is that there are 15 blog posts altogether, but on the main page of the blog, only 10 are displaying. I can't seem to find where I can change how many are being displayed, can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers for any input.

Just want to flag this in case it really is the wrong information and not just me missing something. The section on this page about directing a form to a custom confirmation page - Customizing WebForms - says that you do this by setting ID=/custom-url. I tried this and it didn't work. I also tried the numeric id as suggested in the note - again, didn't work. Complaining to a friend of mine who is more familiar with BC, and he says no, use PageID=/custom-url. Bingo, that works. So question is, is the User Manual incorrect here, should that section be updated to say "PageID"?

Thanks for that, sorry to come back to this after so long, but I've been off sick. So I've just given this a go and I don't know why I am so dense, but I can't get it to work. I'm not sure at what point it's falling down, but when I use {{this|json}}, it's being interpreted as plain text, not as code. I've tried adding it to a template and adding it to a new page, it's the same for both. One thing that I noticed is that the article is telling me to use "the Develop tab editor", and I'm not really sure what this is. I've been using the HTML view rather than the Design view to add the code, as I thought this might be what it means? I have also added the code in Dreamweaver (not linked to BC as it's an older version for which a plugin is no longer available) and then uploaded to the BC site via FTP. This also doesn't work. Sorry for bogging you down with absolute beginner questions, but can you give me any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I was having a bit of difficulty getting my editable regions working, which through a process of trial-and-error I've locked down as being because they won't function if included in a template through a content holder. This isn't a major issue, but it does mean that I'll have to have the identical code across three out of four of my templates. Initially I was storing that code in a content holder and pulling the content holder in wherever it was needed in a template. Obviously I'd prefer to do it the second way for efficiency, maintainability, etc, but I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting the issue. Does anyone have any insights to this? Is it something that definitely cannot be done, or am I just not doing it properly? I'd be interested to hear any feedback, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answer. I'm not sure that will cover what I want, though - anything I have in a meta tag will obviously not be appropriate for an alt tag, which would be need to be a description of the image. When you use {{name}} on your alt tags, where is the data contained in that being pulled from? ie, is there a field in the CMS where you can type in your alt text?

Hi guys, My post title pretty much says everything I'm after. I'm coming at this from the perspective of being a developer, but making my first BC site for a client. I have a hero image section in my page template, which dynamically serves up an image using {module_pagename}. But naturally I want the alt text to also be served up dynamically. Is there a way to do this? Is there a different/better way to get the image that I should be using? Cheers for any advice.

Thanks for confirming that I'm not crazy or stupid in thinking that's what the reference should be (honestly, I was starting to imagine that I must be one of the two), however I definitely only have one each of container_mc and test_mc. I've just tested this by changing the instance names (one at a time) - if there was a duplicate instance with the same name, the code would presumably still work, which it doesn't. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Hi everyone, I'm having a really weird problem that I hope someone will be able to help me with. I'm using Actionscript 2.0. Basically, I have a main .swf, into which I am loading another .swf using loadClip(), on the click of a button. It loads into an empty movie clip on the timeline of the main .swf called container_mc. So far so good, this works. The problem comes when I am trying to control a movie clip that lives on the timeline of the external .swf. This clip has the instance name test_mc, and I'm trying to control it using the reference _level0.container_mc.test_mc. I have also tried just plain old container_mc.test_mc. Neither of these work, though when I apply a trace to test_mc with Actionscript on the timeline of the external swf (test_mc.onRelease = function () { trace(this); }), it returns the path _level0.container_mc.test_mc (when clicked on after being loaded into the main movie, obviously). Can anybody give me any ideas as to what is going wrong here? I've attached a couple of files demonstrating the problem I'm having. Cheers for any assistance!
