This style doesn't span columns. Even if it did, the text frame only has one, so there is nothing to span.

It's a 1-column frame. My guess is that it's some kind of bug, or I need to delete and reinstall InDesign. It's happened with other documents, too. I'm running ID 20.0.1.32 in Mac OS Sequoia 15.3 (24D60) on a 2019 MacBook Pro with 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 and 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4.

Yes, that's the crux of my problem. The paragraph style shows the tab is beyond the right margin of the column, but there's no reason it should behave that way. The right margin displays correctly when I add the special character for a Right Indent Tab.

It's in this screenshot. The tab is at 43p0, the width of the text frame. However, a non-existing right indent prevents it from working properly. The right indent corrects itself in the paragraph style once I add the special character for the right indent tab in the text.

I've had an issue with right-justified tabs in multiple documents where they behave like a right indent is applied to the paragraph. Adding a Right Indent Tab seems to clear the issue in the style.

I need a serif font with a glyph for the Latin aa (shown above). I placed a Word doc into InDesign with the text in Times New Roman. The glyph displays when I view the source doc in Word but not when I place the text in InDesign. I tried entering the Unicode (U+A733) but still got the missing glyph. Searching the Glyphs Panel with the code doesn't find it either. Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks, Edward! FYI for anyone trying this, I also had to toggle the Adobe Fonts setting. Open the menu from the account icon at the top right of Creative Cloud desktop, choose Services, and then toggle Adobe Fonts to turn it off and back on.

I'm having the same problem. I get an error message saying the Go To Page action isn't supported in PDF. I'm using ID 2022 v 17.1, and opening it in Acrobat Pro v 2021.001.20039.

I have tried all the suggestions here but I still can't get my endnotes and references to reappear. Every time I try to work with the Endnote options the file crashes. I'm using InDesign 17.0.1 for Mac, running OS Big Sur 11.6.2. Exporting the .indd file to .idml format stops the crashing, but all the references are replaced with <?>. Adobe support suggested changing the font to force them to reappear but that didn't work. I also tried the Recompose command+option+/ (slash) and that didn't work. I unsuccessfully tried exporting the text to various formats hoping the endnotes would show up and I could at least copy and paste the text. Any and all suggestions welcome!

Hi Ian, I had some issues at first because I hadn't put the slashes after tel: and the button didn't work. It needs to be tel://18005551212, not tel:18005551212. Also, make sure you have 1 before the area code. (That's if you're in the US, I'm not sure how to format it in other countries.) I discovered that the pdf needs to be exported as interactive, not print. I hope this might help, and good luck!

Thank you all! One thing I discovered: Export the .indd file to Adobe PDF (Interactive), not Adobe PDF (Print) for this to work. Generally interactive elements work with PDF (Print) but not this one. TIP 1: If you have images in the interactive pdf that you want to display at high quality, make sure to change the compression settings: TIP 2: If the pdf file size is huge, save it as a Reduced Size PDF in Acrobat PRO:
