Hello, again. Anubha: Well, I was finally successful in updating Acrobat XI Standard to version 11.0.14! However, it wasn't at all straight forward! Here's what I had to do: 1. After you suggested a link I looked at it - I looked at the location of the file in question and it was always read only! However, there was no way that I could force it to stay read/write! I am usually pretty good at those kinds of things but not this time! 2. I decided to uninstall Acrobat completely! 3. When re-installing, I decided to allow Acrobat to install in its default location. I do not like doing that and I avoid it if at all possible (I don't know why except I have a dedicated drive for installing programs to and I prefer to do that vs. installing to the C: drive.). But, that did the trick; I executed the 11.0.14 patch and it executed perfectly! The error message part of the 11.0.14 must not have noticed that it could not write the file and just kept trying. However, having said all of this, it would seem that perhaps there is a fault somewhere in the Acrobat patch system that sometimes has a problem with installs in other than the default location.
