Thank you Bill and Monika! I also thought that it might be the case. But still hopeful to a possible workable solution. It is interesting as my photoshop and inDesign still work fine. It is just illustrator so far that is experiencing a big problem.

Yes, I know. But it is so far only the text tool that I have experienced it with. So maybe there is something that I can do as all other CS6 tools that I have used is not giving me this problem ✊. I am not sure what you mean exactly by font manager? I just use my font book. Yes, also checked that dictation is turned off. Is there anything else that I can try?

Hello, I am using CS6 in Mojave 10.14.4 on an iMac 2015 with 8GB memory and 3.2GHz processor. It is really frustrating that whenever I am using the text tool my illustrator becomes unbearably slow as it takes longer to type, select, highlight any text and then the mouse starts turning. It gets up to a point that I want to quit and then the whole of illustrator is starting to freeze or takes 30seconds-longer to respond. I end up force quitting as it freezes for longer than a minute. Please help as I can't work like this! I have removed the font errors (as suggested by forum discussion regarding the issue for CC2019 but clearly that did not solve my problem).
