yep, I reset the monitor settings to default this morning and ran the spyder to all the settings. and thats the profile it gave me, it dont ask for alot before it starts the calibration, i have to reset to default, as its a laptop that was hard to find but i managed. it says set the brightness to whats comfortable and thats usually 100%, then it does its thing. ... I've read this 4 times now and it's still a little confusing. embededd document profile as in sRGB? i looked at the image in bridge and states sRGB. Thanks but that went way over my head lol, surely in this day and age we can take a picture see a picture edit and export and it be the same through every process, im showing clients pictures on my computer in their folder and they look horrible but i cant open every image in PS to show them what it actually looks like, does the spyder not calibrate the monitor to see the same everywhere, Am i doing my work flow right? is there something i need to do to the monitor to see what i see in PS? even when i upload to lightroom website they still show drained of colour, am i wrong in thinking this should not be the case? ... Ok i think im starting to understand, The document profile is of course sRGB so that we know is correct, camera raw now uploads them in sRGB, Convert to sRGB is ticked and embedd is ticked, all correct so far. so windows explorer.....is this the non internet based main desktop applications such as folders, photos?, or internet explorer? if i go to my documents and pictures and get the photo from the folder......the preview will not be colour managed but when it is uploaded to say LR or PS it is then colour managed and so loads correctly? am i right? My monitor is calibrated to what the spyder gave me. thats what i don't get.... why i see a huge difference in photoshop than i do when they are exported into a folder after ticking convert to sRBG and embedd colour profile. surely they should look the same with no difference at all ... View more

No I've been using export and ticking both boxes. Ive never used save for web. The display profile shows sRGB 2.1. all looks fine on the 3xport panel but then when viewed in the folder it gets exported too it's just pants. I can upload a screenshot of you like to show you what I mean ... View more

So this morning I've been working on a newborn shoot and it happened again. 2 different colours and then exported with drained colours I have done a fresh calibration and a fresh install of PS. 1 or the other has to be wrong but which one? When I change the view to internet standard RGB its fine but then when changing to monitor RGB it drains the colour. Seriously getting frustrated now ... View more

I was testing and did 4 images in total, 1 with just convert then 1 just embedd then 1 with both and 1 with nothing to see how theses changed, the last screenshot was a mistake as i uploaded the wrong one but it still had the same issue when exporting until i did what was mentioned about ticking both and changing the camera raw to upload to sRGB ... Yeah i understand what you mean, to be totally honest with you i never noticed the bar at the bottom of camera raw. When i upload them to my computer i just right click and open in photoshop i then do the minor adjustments in camera raw and click open image, i have taken a screen shot that it uploads to PS in Adobe RGB 1998, would this be best changed to sRGB 2.1? ... I have noticed a few changes in PS that i have corrected but other than that it was perfect after my first calibration and i couldnt believe the colours i was seeing compared to what i should of been seeing. is it worth doing a full reinstall of PS? ... View more

I have just noticed in my settings that after the calibration of my monitor the grey in the colour settings bar was set to gamma 2.2. i didnt change this at all. would this be an issue? i have put it back to dot grain 20%. Im not sure why Photoshop will not recognize that my camera is shooting in sRGB it just says adobe 1998. I am trying to do the screenshot and this is the best i can do as im not sure what your on about to be fair, my apologies. i really appreciate all your help, all i want is consistency between camera and photoshop and websites. Thanks but I always shoot in RAW and upload them as RAW. The only think I have changed is set the reports to show so when the profile.is missing it gives a notification. Why would the embedded make the image more red than I edited it? It looks great and my computer but when uploaded to other websites it looks darker on other devices.
