"Insert into multitrack' not working

When I make a selection in Waveform mode, right-click, and select 'Insert into multitrack' the interface mode changes to Multitrack but the selection is not inserted.

Beta build 24.2.0.37 on Mac OS 13.6.2 (22G320)

My mistake - 'Use embedded timecode' had been switched on in Multitrack Clip settings and they were turning up way down the timeline... smh
