Slowing Down Playback

What did you do to Stretch and Pitch?

I'm needing to stretch a recording by 200% (a tape recorded at 3 3/4 run at 7 .5 because I don't have a quarter track machine that runs slow). 

In the past I'd just select the area, go to Stretch & Pitch at defaults, dial lin 200% and it would be fine. Now that gives very distorted audio.

I have to switch to "Audition" and it seems to work, but not always reliably.

What happened?

 Build 23.4.0.32 (Mar 30)  It also does it in the shipping version.
