P: Enhance Details causes cut out colored squares

I was trying out the new Enhance Details function on Lightroom 8.2, and it is working well on some images, but on other images, it creates the new file, but totally messes it up by cutting out a square in one part of the image, and then other green, blue and magenta squares of the same size are placed randomly in other parts of the image.

This doesn't happen on all files (and it isn't consistent as to which files...two shots taken minutes apart with the same camera and lens, and one it won't process correctly, but the other it will.  If it messes up on a file, it always messes up in the same way if you try again. It doesn't matter whether GPU processing is enabled or not.

I know, its just a preview & its magnified to see what it makes with all images.
I had enhanced (and exported) 10 different images with the same results.

The preview is magnified. Use the zoom tool (bottom right in preview window)  to scroll to different parts of the photo. You would need to click the Enhance button to render the DNG to compare side by side.

I have all images damaged after "Enhance Details" - like a mosaic - tested with GPU on & off (Intel HD630)

David your RAF file works fine on W10 Home v1809. Is the problem here with w10 Business Edition or W10 Pro?

Definitely not related to old graphics hardware. My machine is an i7 6700K with an RTX 2070.
February 13, 2019

Now tested on my 2012 Mac Mini at home. Still corrupts the resulting DNG. On the Mac Mini, I get an overall black image, with a few random squares of detail scattered about. The image fragment within the squares sometimes look okay, other times there are artifacts. Happens with or without "Use Graphics Processor" and on both uncompressed and losslessly compressed raw files from my Fuji X-Pro2 and X100F. Older raws shot with older firmware on the camera, brand new files shot today; doesn't seem to matter. I am thinking it is X-Trans combined with old and/or marginal graphics hardware. I also have a 2012 MacBook Air, but I am guessing I'll have the same results with it. All my computers are a number of years old and have low-end graphics hardware. Gaming and video editing were never anything I did either, so the lesser graphics hardware hasn't been an issue in the past.

Honestly, even if the enhance details didn't glitch, it is so incredibly slow to process on my old hardware that I probably wouldn't want to use it anyway, expect maybe for the occasional image I want to print really large. The differences I saw on the D750 files were extremely subtle, but of course if the X-Trans conversions were working, I might see a greater improvement there? Using PhotoNinja often gives me noticeable improvements, with fine detail and textures often looking more natural, without much of a speed hit even on my old computer, and integrates quite well with Lightroom too, so this new Adobe feature seems to be of dubious value for me personally at the moment.

I am guessing Adobe did not test this new feature on all that many older systems, like all the systems I am using, and I cannot really say I blame them either. Here is the info for the Mac Mini...

Yes, it is starting to sound like its more of an X-Trans issue. I also need to test uncompressed since every X-Trans raw I've tried has been lossless compressed.

Seems it might be a problem confined to X-Trans files.

I tested with a Nikon .NEF file: the enhancement process worked fine.  Andrew Rodney tested with a Canon .CR2, also fine (see Andrew's earlier posts in this thread.)

I have seen these symptoms with my own Fuji X-Trans XT-1, XT-2, and XT-3 files, and with Adobe's XPro-1 sample file that was linked to in the weblog post by Sharad Mangalick ( https://theblog.adobe.com/enhance-details/).
