P: PDF converted to Tiff causes application freeze opening in Camera Raw 14.0.1

This TIF file downloadable from this link below was saved with Photoshop 23.0.1.  We cannot open it back into Photoshop 23.0.1 unless we set the Camera Raw Preferences to "Disable TIF Support" under File Handling.

@J453  From my own testing, it appears to me that this bug has been fixed in Camera Raw 14.1.  Can you verfiy?  Thanks!

Hello: I posted this comment, but apparently not in the correct place. Possible to move it to a board relevant to Photoshop instead? (I'm new here and obviously didn't know how to navigate the boards...)

Photoshop will no longer open more than 5 TIFF files at a time without freezing (I have to use the Windows Task Manager to close the program).  Five image or fewer, and it's fine.  We have the latest Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Bridge CC versions.  The TIFFs are generated through Adobe Camera Raw.  (This is happening for both my colleague and I).  Any intel on solutions?

I merged you with the relevant link you cite above. There is a known issue with Camera Raw causing a freeze opening Tiff files. This will be fixed in an upcoming update.

I was able to open it directly into Photoshop, no issues. Open, select, done.

I was NOT able to open it inside ACR by 'forcing the issue" (see screen capture) using the trick where you select "Camera Raw" from the open/format drop down. Had to do a force quit because ACR was just showing a spinning beach ball fo death.

I resaved the TIFF again, as a TIFF after step one above, tried again to open in ACR using this force, locked up again. Seems something is very off with this TIFF.

Looks like a few more posts from the old thread still need to be moved to this thread.

It locks up Photoshop 23.0.1 with a rainbow pinwheel and no progress until we Force Quit, on Mac Catalina 10.15.7 -- unless we Disable TIFF Support.

Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for your help and interest.  This was a PDF file rasterized into Photoshop 23.0.1, and then saved as the TIF I sent in the link.  Now it can't be opened into Photoshop 23.0.1, unless we set the Disable TIFF Support workaround.
