P: Unable to openHasselblad’s FFF format

Hasselblad’s FFF. formats are not supported anymore

Problem occurs in both Mac OS 15.5 (24F74)  & Windows 11 pro (Betriebssystembuild: 26100.7840)

When opening fff. files in the newest Bridge (16.0.3), Camera RAW Plugin (18.3.) opens and creates an error, claiming the file format is not supported. Same Problem occurs with  the newest Lightroom Classic (15.3). The Import is not possible cause the file format is not supported.

Thank you for your help!

Happened to me yesterday on a commercial photoshoot. I am tethering into Phocus, and then viewing files in Bridge and Photoshop – both were unable process the files, not even display previews.
Thought its something with new Phocus update, reinstalled, different version, but no help – turns out that CameraRaw 18.3 somehow silently dropped / broke support for one of the best cameras in the world right now. Without warnings, mentions.

Tried to download previous version 18.2 but adobe dont provide any previous download links.

    Its completely unacceptable.

    Utter shame.

Also one thing: when I wanted to open the .fff file with ACR 18.3. out of my explorer/finder, it had the same error.

I will now work my way up through the various updates to see where the problem started. Also tethering not working with X2Dii either🙄

I downgraded to LR 15.2.1 and it seems that it is ok now.

    Greetings @Lo_Sa

Do you have the ability to share with Adobe Engineering a couple of the files that indicate they are not supported?

Share them with a standard sharing service and direct message me with the link if you can.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

The problem is still not fixed. What will it take for Adobe to fix it? Maybe less AI and more stability.

Also, a screenshot of the “corrupted” ACR window would help, so we know what you mean.

Which camera are the files from?

    https://helpx.adobe.com/nz/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

Can you open the files with the Hasselblad app?

Can you convert the files to DNG and then open in Camera RAW?

Camera Raw V 18.3 wont recognise Hasselblad FFF files. I downloaded V 14 which recognises the files but the camera raw dialogue windows are corrupt and you cant see any of the dialogue boxes.

    Hello,
thank you for your replies. We use the Hasselblad XD2 100C in our company as well and it does not work with the latest versions of said software. Neither on Mac OS nor on Windows (see initial post for OS versions).

We capture our pictures with Phocus and continue our editing workflow in ACR and LR classic. Until ACR 18.3 we did not encounter the bug as explained in the report. We downgraded to ACR 18.2.2 to be able to work again.

Since many companies like us rely professionally on Adobe software, we would appreciate a proper testing pipeline before publishing. For now, we just wish for this bug to be fixed asap.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

Sorry you are encountering an error.

I just tried opening some FFF files in Camera Raw 18.3 on my Mac, and they opened without error.

Please be aware of this note about the limitations of Camera Raw’s support for FFF files (not new in 18.3):

    > ** Hasselblad FFF files created by the Hasselblad Phocus software for currently supported models are also supported. FFF files created using the FlexColor software are not supported.

    https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html#hasselbladnote

If you have an FFF file that are you are sure was supported by an older version of Lightroom or Camera Raw, please let me know which camera model it is from and send me a link to download a file, so I can test it.

    Thanks,
    David

I have the same problem with Lightroom classic; fff files from Hasselblad X2D 100C are not supported anymore. Is it a joke?

Please send us files if you are able to. Our X2D 100C fff files are working as expected in 18.3. We need problematic files to investigate further. Thank you.
