Drop Shadow not displaying properly

Operating: Windows 11 (Snapdragon X12-core, ARM-based processor)

Version: AI Beta v.30.4

Since a few Illustrator updates ago, my drop shadow has been mostly unusable.

The first issue was all of my drop shadows would appear rotated 90 degrees.

That seems to have been fixed with the last issue, but now the drop shadow causes MAJOR graphical issues, making it almost impossible to see what my image will look like prior to export.

Hello @usernamegoeshere thank you for sharing this. Can you please help respond to the following questions:

    • What exact device are you on? (Surface Pro 11, Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge, etc.)
    • What GPU driver version are you running?
    • Can you share a screen recording of the graphical corruption?
    • Does the corruption appear only with Drop Shadow, or also with other live effects like Inner Glow, Outer Glow, Feather?
    • Does it affect all objects or specific types?
    • Does the exported file look correct?
    • Do you remember approximately when it started?

    Device: Surface Laptop, 7th Edition

    Graphics Card: Qualcomm(R) Adreno X1-85 (128 MB)

The corruption appears to be with many live effects, including glows. I have tried on both text and on shapes and it causes issues on both. The exported file looks correct, but it’s really hard to see exactly what it’s going to look like after export, so I keep having to re-export files and make adjustments from there.

This has been happening since the update to Beta Version 30.5. Previously, with Beta Version 30.4, all of my drop shadows appeared rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise, even when exported, so I had to create multiple layers for shadows.

Text is completely unreadable when placed on the image. I had to edit it in the artboard area for visibility and then hope it was placed properly on the graphic for exporting.
Here it shows how this is affecting both text shadowing and shadowing underneath the bounding boxes on the images.
