I can no longer open .dxf files and also cannot export my artwork as .dxf files as the option does not appear from the drop down anymore

system and software details:

System Type    ARM64-based PC
System SKU    LENOVO Yoga Slim 7 14Q8X9
Processor    Snapdragon(R) X Elite - X1E78100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) CPU, 3417 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM)    32.0 GB

Illustrator Version: Illustrator Beta 30.7 (Most recent update available from Adobe Creative Cloud 12 June 2026)

Since I have updated my Illustrator (12 June 2026), I do not have the option on the Export As menu to export files as .DXF and also cannot open/import .DXF files in Illustrator.

I have been using that function for the past 2 years on this laptop without any issue but the recent update has done something and I cannot figure out how to get the native DxfDwgFileFormat.aip to load in the System Folder as well as I have also tried to uninstall and even use Adobe Cleaner to remove all Creative Cloud Apps and re-install everything.

I have also used Illustrator to export my files to .DXF as it is the most efficient way to do my work as I required .PNGs illustrations and matching .DXFs line files. I hope there is a solution to this, thank you. Or is there a way for me to download previous versions of Illustrator BETA that will fix this issue?

    Hello @novattoi98195528 @cxs88 @Angelia284629024g8b

I checked on the status again, and it appears that support for this is not planned for this year.

The .dxf format is provided by AutoCAD, and the current limitation is due to changes in support from AutoCAD’s end rather than an Adobe or Illustrator-specific issue. For Illustrator, the transition from emulator to native did not impact support for this file format.

Based on the information available, AutoCAD plans to revisit this in 2027.

Additionally, while there is currently no option to revert to an earlier Illustrator Beta build, doing so would not resolve the issue even if that option were available, as the limitation originates from AutoCAD’s support for the format.

Awww, dang! Thank you so much, Smriti, for taking the time to research this and provide such a detailed update.

I guess that sometime between the last time I worked with a .dxf file and last month, the AutoCAD support changed. That certainly explains why the functionality suddenly disappeared.

I really appreciate you keeping us informed and following up on the status. Thank you again for all your help! - Novattoi

Hello @cxs88 , @novattoi98195528 and @cxs88 We do not currently have native DWG support on WinARM. As a result, this file format is not supported on WinARM at this time.

I am having this issue as well. I have always been able to export to DXF and now cannot as the plugin is gone entirely.

I have used the adobe cleaner, re-installed illustrator, reset all the settings and cannot get the DXF plugin error fixed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I have been using that function for the past 2 years also on my laptop, without any issue, but the recent update has done something. And ditto to: Is there a way for me to download previous versions of Illustrator BETA that will fix this issue?
