Imprecision in selecting letters or words within a text box.

When attempting to select a letter or word in a text box, the cursor automatically and incorrectly selects a large number of words, making manual adjustment impossible. To temporarily work around this problem and be able to select a specific letter or word, it is necessary to click with the text tool and use the keyboard arrow keys to move the cursor to the desired letter/word, so that you can then delete or modify it.
This bug appeared after the most recent update for Illustrator Beta.
