The shift+Delete Anchor Point tool switches to start a new path on Mac OS

In illustrator Beta 30.6 27 pressing the shift modifier key when deleting an anchor point using the pen tool, changes the tool to the create new path anchor.  Switches from a minus sign to a star symbol, and starts a new path rather than deleting the anchor without changing the shape of the path.

Thanks for the follow up. the delete anchor point tool is now behaving as it should. thanks! Although I do find it odd that the Pen tool and delete anchor point tool behave differently when holding the shift modifier key. Feel free to close the ticket.

Hello @Joy22418499mblm,

Thanks for reporting the issue. We can't reproduce this in-house yet. Could you help us by sharing the below information:

• Trying out the latest beta build and confirming whether it still happens.
• Sending a screen recording of the Shift+Delete action and the tool switching.
• Sharing your exact macOS version and machine details, and whether you use any keyboard remapping or accessibility settings.
• Walking through your exact steps: are you using the Delete Anchor Point tool, or relying on Shift modifier while the Pen tool is active?

With those details and a recording, we can dig in quickly.

Thanks,
Aishwarya
