Turntable Edits Not Synced or Saved

This may be more of a feature request than a bug report, and may already be on the roadmap. When using turntable to generate a turnaround of something, you can edit what you see in a particular view, but if you rotate away and back, those edits are not saved and they revert back to what was originally generated.

There’s a little bit of text saying "edits in this view will not sync with other rotated views", but it’s not clear that your work will be lost if you rotate to another view.

The expected result would be to save those edits to a view. If I make a change, I expect it to be able to retain that edit even if I rotate off of that view and then back again.

Additionally, it would be useful to be able to lock certain views and then regenerate the turntable views to generate the views between those which are locked. Otherwise, if it just went by what was edited, or perhaps if views could be selected and then allow the user to select a “regenerate selected views” option.

Example 1: I have a character designed from the front. I use turntable to generate a turn around. I edit the views from the back, left and right and lock those and the original views. Then regenerate unlocked views. It originally generated a turnaround from a single image, now it generates a turnaround from 4 images with a better understanding of what should and should not be present.

Example 2: I have a character designed. I used turntable to generate a turn around. I edit the 30 degree view, then select the 15 degree view and choose “regenerate selected view” to generate only the view between 0 and 30 given that we now have two views by which to generate that 15 degree view.

I’m sure this is already where this feature is heading, but figured this request wouldn’t hurt.

Overall I’m impressed with where Project Turntable currently is, but I can also see the potential this feature has yet realized. These two little features (edit/sync views, and regenerate views) it would significantly elevate this project to the next level.

Thanks for being awesome. Keep up the good work!

    @nthnlsmmrs

    Thanks we’ll check on your feature request and get back to you.

    For the edit you made, you can undo it in the document to retrieve the previous version. I’d also recommend creating a copy so you don’t lose your edited turntable variation.

    Thanks,

    @nthnlsmmrs Have you tried this in the standalone Illustrator versus the Beta, as Turntable is now available in the recent update of Illustrator
