Any idea on when some missing features will be added?

Hi,

I'm a user who does mobile only editing for half the year (when I'm hiking, i only have a phone). As such, I had high hopes for this release, but I am underwhelmed. I'm sure that my expectations were too high, but I hoped for at least parity with Rush, since you've deprecated that. Having said that, the interface is nice and fluid, although there is some wasted space (even on the phone). It hasn't crashed on me like Rush did so that's good. The audio/music/voiceover/sound effects  features are really great and easy to use. The generate video from image feature is pretty darn cool i must say. I don't want to sound negative either and

I do hope you have plans to expand the features. I'd be willing to pay for a subscription if it includes features on par with or surpassed those of Lumafusion. But currently I'm unsure if this is ultimately meant to compete with apps like Lumafusion (since you deprecated Rush) or if this is only meant for short and simple TikTok-like videos.

Some examples of features that I hope to see:

1. More contol over clip fit, crop, position, size, scale, blending, and rotation. For example, the ability to Zoom in/out of a video clip. Rush only had this for still images. Being able to zoom in/out video (with control) would require the next item.

2. keyframes.

3. effects

4. adjustment layers

5. double-tap in blank area of timeline to collapse/expand all clips to fit to horizontally in view. I understand this is not possible vertically.

6. ability to select multiple clips in the timeline for editing or dragging

7. Finer control of Titles. Especially size and position. For example, the ability to Apply to All for text size and position. Currently we're just guessing with the haptics. Or even give us the ability to create a user generated template.

8. Project settings. Everything seems to be preset by first imported clip, but there's no way to tell in the app. Only Aspect ratio is exposed to the user.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read.

Hi @Jason Pursell — just wanted to follow up on this post and share an update. We’ve been steadily checking items off the list :)

Today we released Keyframes, and we’re super excited to finally get this into our users’ hands.

You may have seen it already, but last month we also shipped Effects and a new set of Transitions as part of our ongoing improvements.

We’ll keep the updates coming.

Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback — it truly helps shape the product.

Thank you @Peter Garaway for the response. I'm happy to hear that you are intending to add much needed basic features.

I'm currently watching Adobe Max and am a little concerned that Premiere on Phone is really only aimed at short form video like Youtube Shorts. Is this the case? Are you intending to also compete with Lumafusion or even your own Rush editor?

The potential for Premiere on Phone is incredible, especially with new AI capable chips on phones and greater memory. Some of the features are really nice. I was blown away by the Image to Video feature. I understand that shorts seem to be all the rage, but there are still users who want to create more long form video, even on the phone. Editing on the phone is not ideal, but is necessary for many people. I only ask that Premiere team doesn't forget that people still want to edit traditional (longer) videos too, even on the phone.

thank you,

Jason Pursell

Hi there @Jason Pursell — thank you so much for the detailed and thoughtful feedback!
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Hearing both what’s working well and where we can improve is incredibly valuable, so thank you for your candid insights.

The good news is that many of the features you mentioned — like keyframes, more control over clip transforms, multi-clip selection, and more precision editing — are already high on our priority list. You can expect development to move at a much quicker pace than what you may have experienced with Rush. We’re committed to building something truly great, and your patience as we continue to build out Premiere means a lot.

Please keep the feedback coming — it’s invaluable. We’re building Premiere for creators like you, and your voice helps guide where we go next. Cheers!

Hi there Jason,
Here's a message from the team regarding your queries:

Thanks for your suggestions! This is just the beginning of Premiere on iPhone and we will continue to build in public with customer input. We're constantly collecting feedback and feature requests and adjusting our roadmap accordingly. You can submit your feedback through the community forums (here), discord, or in-app feedback form. Please keep the ideas coming!

As far as "when" features will be added, etc., I'm afraid that I can't answer questions like that in a support forum. The team would have to make those kind of announcements. Sorry I can't help you with that.

You’ve included several great feature requests—would you be willing to post each one separately? I know it’s a lot of extra work, but it really helps the team track and prioritize them. I’ll upvote each one, and we can encourage others to do the same. The more upvotes a request gets, the more likely it is to be considered sooner.

Thanks again for your passion and patience. I’m sorry for any frustration this early version may be causing, but I truly believe many of these improvements are on the way.

Thanks,
Kevin
