Appending _1 to output

Can AME check for overwrites whenever a format is changed instead of leaving _1 appended to the file name?

I often export a preview mp4 and a ProRes file for my clients. Those have different extensions, so they're not going to collide. But if you duplicate an output to change it, it appends _1 to the file name to avoid a collision of names, but then when you change it to another format and extension AME should double check whether or not it needs to add that _1. It'd save me a step to not have to change the output name each time. Thanks!

This has been an issue for many years. I don't think they can or are willing to fix the problem. There also seems to be no pattern to when it happens. I've gotten into the habit of deleting the files I want to replace. It's annoying but much less than dealing with it afterwards.
