Batch collapse windows in AME

I haven't seen this pop up, but it would be extremely helpful to be able to shift or control click the downward pointing arrow and have it close or collapse all of the open windows. Currently, I have to close them one at a time, and when batch exporting many files, its a total mess and takes some time to close everything. I've been looking for this simple, yet really important update for years. I keep thinking its such a no-brainer that it would have been implemented by now.

Also, the ability to create a second que would help keep things organized nicely. Currently your compeditor EditReady has the ability to add additional windows/ques and its incredible.

Thank you.

Dan

I am very happy to report that we have added your feature request to Adobe Media Encoder. You can verify in the current beta. It will be soon in the release, too.

We added two commands to open / close all top level items in the Queue Panel and expose them via context menu on the queue items. These commands will automatically appear in the Keyboard-Shortcut dialog. Set the option, that all top level items can be opened / closed via option-click

For a quick test, open AME and add some items to the queue. Open / close items via

  • normal click on triangle
  • option click on triangle
  • context menu

Hi Sven, thanks for the response. Mostly that second que would help with organizing if it was not a mirror of the first. Just a second batch. I might not be describing this corretly, but if you check out the app "EditReady" the workflow is very clean with multiple ques. With ME, not being able to easily close those tabs makes for a very cluttered environment when transcoding dozens of files and multiple destinations. Also...I'm not sure why this is, but ME crashes almost evertime I try to transcode multiple files and then when I re-open the app, its like starting over. Would there be a way to "save as" the ques that we build so as to easily stop and start over as we went along. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Dan for the input. We definitive will take a look at the shift-click.
One questions: How would a second Queue help with the organizing, because it would just be a mirror of the existing one?
