Media Encoder mp4/mov HEVC H.265 transparent background

For videos with a transparent background, you can easily export small, kb-sized WebM videos for Chrome and Firefox browsers. Unfortunately, Safari does not support transparent WebM videos and requires the MOV format in the H.265 HEVC codec. Media Encoder cannot export this format, and the only workaround I know is to use Apple Compressor software.

Ideally, it would be more streamlined if everything could be handled in Media Encoder. Is there any planned update to support this?

This is a nice tip that does work. However, the bit rate cannot be customised to suit one's needs.

Some additional information that might be helpful:  ProRes4444 with Alpha can be converted to H265 with Alpha without Apple Compressor ($50).  Right-click the movie file or movie files and then choose Encode Selected Video Files.  When the Options dialog box appears, choose H265 and enable the Preserve Transparency check box.  However, using Compressor may still be preferred as it shows the progress of the transcode with estimated time remaining.
