Media Encoder should be able to pick up exporting after closing laptop

Since exporting a video sometimes takes a long time I don't always have the time to wait for it to finish. Suddenly I have a meeting, forget the ongoing export, close the laptop, and the whole export fails. I have to start all over again.

Would it be possible for the enocoder to recognize when the laptop lid closes and pause the export?

Thanks,

Thomas

Weird. Can you try it with a newer build (e.g., beta) and on a newer OS?

OK. I just tested on my MacBook Pro 16" (2021, M1 Max) with macOS 14.5. Adobe Media Encoder 24.4.1.2 did correctly resume after I woke up my MBP. Which version of AME are you using?

Absolutely.

If you reset the status and rerun the job, will it succeed?

It is working for me on my MacBook Pro 16" (2021, M1 Max, macOS 14.4.1, Adobe Media Encoder 24.3.0.49). I just added an MPEG-2 job and started transcoding to HEVC. Closing the MacBook Pro will suspend, opening and locking in will resume. What exactly is not woking for you? Please also provide your full specs (OS, CPU, memory, AME version).
