Media Encoder should check that there is available hard drive space BEFORE starting export

Why on god's green earth would Premiere / Media Encoder wait until the export is nearly complete to check that there is sufficient space for storing it?!?

My computer just spent 2 hours on an export, only to have it fail at the very end, because I forgot to check whether I had enough space on my hard drive.

I'm sure they can't predict exactly what size a file will be until after it finishes, but they can certainly estimate this and stop me from wasting my own time.
