Show in progress encoding on expandable window / ext monitor

I think I would find value in a feature that would allow me to expand the preview window in media encoder to an undocked resizable window and/or second display.  Mainly because Id like to see some ore detail while its processing so that while it works in the background, and I am doign something else, I can maybe catch something that doesnt look right.

As an example, I am exporting a 50 min video right now, with some heavy effects,  media encoder is running for an estimated 7 hours to process this.  I would love to be able to see the preview window expandable incase soemthing happens I was not expecting.

Currently undocking doesnt seem to allow you to make the preview of the video resizable.

@Warren Heaton10841144 I don't use Aftereffects in almost anyway,  on occasion something small maybe - but super weak in aftereffects skills.  almost everything I do is within premier.

As for the resizing,  I'm not too fussy so long you can resize the window.  If the progress, and estimated time etc and the video frame currently rendered were all in one one, and they used a concept like response design, to allow you to dock/undock as needed, and then treat the window as its own so you can put it anywhere at any size hit my expectations.

In that case one could make the encoding/render window what ever size makes sense for the user, and there display topology without adobe having to think too much about all those options.

I hope that helps explain it better.

@FlyingFourFun

Are you thinking more like how the Source panel adjusts the the frame size when set to "Fit" in Premiere Pro and then resize that panel?  That would be a good approach.

I was going with how other panels in Media Encoder currently work and was considering how an item with multiple outputs has multiple previews (for example, three outputs would have three preview thumbnails).

Are you using settings that can be rendered in the After Effects Render Queue?  The Ae Composition panel updates as queued Comps render, they can be undocked and placed on a second display, and when the Magnification is set to "Fit" or "Fit up to" the picture scales with the panel.  It's a little bit of effort to setup, but you could use File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import Premiere Pro Sequence... in an After Effects project and create Compositions from your Premiere Pro Sequences and then add those to the Render Queue.  There's also an option to open a second viewer for the Composition that you could undock (you'd also want to unlock it - there's a little lock icon next to the Comp name in the tab).  As they render, you'll see the progress at whatever size you've set the floating Composition panel to.

I think I love it!  I of course would like to be able pull on the corners for normal window expansion, which I assume is what you had in mind also; but I like the zoom bar also as an alternate method.

If you can undock, float, and put it on alternate displays while you go do something else it would be perfect.

Thanks for both the mockup and support.

@FlyingFourFun

I think this is a great idea.

I mocked up what it might look like, going with something similar to how the size of image thumbnails can be changed in the Media Browser panel of Media Encoder.
