i have made a chat app and i want to let the user add another users that he can find by searching the database of users to his own list, and grouping them ,,, this is can be donebut ,,, now in my app when the user connect to the lobby he get all the online connected users in his list i mean when connecting to the online user list sharedobject the user list contains all the connected clients to the lobby and if the number of the connected users is by hundreds or thousands i thinkif i create a loop for updating the own user users list statues it would not be good idea,,,so what is the best way to let the user build his own users list and get the statues of each user in his list from the application online users sharedObject witch connected to the lobby app

HiI am streaming pre recorded audio files (mp4) to an AIR client. I have tried two different solutions,streaming the file directly with the NetStream.play("mp4:xxxxx.m4a") and creating a server side playlist, adding thesame sound clip and then streaming the playlist. The problem is, when streaming the playlist i get a few NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW, this does not happen when streaming the file direct. Both solutions uses bufferTime=1.0I would like to use a server side playlist to implement a simple key solution so that the client dont know the full path tothe file, but instead sends a key to a custom server side function that looks up the file path and creates a stream for the client.TIARuben ChadienFMS 4.0(linux)
I've been using Stratus to develop a p2p webconference app and now that FMS 4/FMES is released with support of RTMFP, I was wondering if FMES dynamically assigned the ports like Stratus? Like the following:1) The initial connection to Stratus for a fingerprint ID connected with a port in the range of 10000-101002) The p2p connections were established based on the fingerprint ID anywhere between 1024-65535Is that still how the p2p connections with FMES work, or is there now a way to possibly define the ports?Another question, assuming the above is still true, if the machines that will be directly connected with p2p are on a local network behind the same firewall, the only UDP ports that would need to be openned/configured would be 10000-10100 to talk to the server. Once the fingerprints are established, the machines should be wide open within their own network to connect to each other, correct?Thanks in advance!

Hi .. I just came accross edge origin configuration. I was wondering if this would be good if I use Edge-Origin configuration on live applications, like live Video Chat or sharing a drawing board.I understand that they will be useful in case of failures of edges.But unlike 'videos on demand' applications like streaming, edges will help since the edges will cache them.So for a live application, apart from failover any other advantages of having Edge-Origin setup ? Hi,We have one functionality in which one user can communicate with the other user at the same time through flash media server3.5. In this fucnitonality we are catching stream from both end through camera and pass it to flash media server. On FMS side this streams gets stored also we are displaying those recorded flv files side by side to the corresponding user so that they can communicate with each other. In this situation we are facing a video and audio latency upto 1.5 to 2 sec. Can we decrease this latency upto 100-200 ms or less than 300ms. If possible then please help.Please help we are in great dilema. Thanks in advance.
I am attempting to send XML data to a PHP script from my server-side app using the following code: var my_xml = new XML("<highscore><name>Ernie</name><score>13045</score></highscore>"); my_xml.contentType = "text/xml"; my_xml.send("http://www.server.com/temp/fms_post.php");I am logging anything that the outside server receives at $_REQUEST, $_POST, $_GET. I can see that my server-side app is reaching out to the external server, but the data is always blank. Am I doing something wrong here?

Hi,I use FMLE 3 streaming and recording (DVR) to FMS 3.5, and the sample DVR scripts on FMS for recording the live stream, but the recorded stream not playable (from the remote FMS with FLVPlayback and from my local Developer FMS with Adobe Video Player too). The recorded file is crashed.What is the problem?Thank's!
Adobe Air 1.0 application displays an rtmp mp4 stream from FMS3. I'm trying to capture a frame of video with BitmapData.draw and get a security sandbox violoation. I have added <VideoSampleAccess enabled=true>/</VideoSampleAccess> to my Application.xml and I've also tried setting the client property in the main.asc. Neither seem to work. (I'm able to stream the video w/o issue - just the BitmapData.draw throws and exception.) What do I need to do to make this work?
I've just finished installing FMS 4.0. What I would like to do is publish my camera's feed to to a custom app I am writing and have it saved to a file. The following code behaves differently in FMS 3.5 vs. FMS 4: var loops; loops = 0; var obj = { r1: 'v1', r2: 'v2' }; for(var iter in obj) { delete obj['r1']; delete obj['r2']; loops++; } Tester.assert(loops == 2, 'Deleting items in an object while iterating does not affect the iteration.');FMS 3.5 ends up with 2 loops, FMS 4 ends up with 1 (The correct behavior). Was the JavaScript VM updated?
Does a progressive download served by the server count as a concurrent connection/unicast streams? I would assume they are separate.
We just went live with FMS last week and I have had many complaints about folk being disconnected midstream. On checking the master log I see the following message repeating muliple times each second, using up a lot of log space too.2010-09-20 14:18:07 31770 (e)2581394 Failed to wait for process condition: errno(43).Someone elsewhere mentioned about lack of available arrays or semaphores. Here is what I get from my server.------ Semaphore Limits --------max number of arrays = 1024max semaphores per array = 250max semaphores system wide = 32000max ops per semop call = 32semaphore max value = 32767kernel.sem = 250 32000 32 1024Anyone got any suggestions?
Hi all,I'm testing FMS as an edge server and was able to successfuly set it up, however there is a problem.I've setup 10 test streams and I'm publishing them to origin server with FMLE - this works just fine.I've setup FMS edge server and repeating also works fine, but the thing is FMS edge pulls streams from origin server even if no user asked for a stream thus spending my internet bandwidth all the time.Expected behaviour is to FMS edge wait for a stream to be called (user starts playing desired stream) and then FMS edge pulls that particular stream from origin server.Am I missing something in configuration files or behavour I'm expiriencing is expected?Any tip would be hihgly appreciated.ThxZema

Hello guys, i'm using the Flash Media Development Server 4 to test and implement an audio conference. I'm having some troubles. I'm implementing this audio conference as follow:1 - An audio stream is created to an specific name;2 - If a stream with the name specified already exists another name is passed and it's republished with this name.I don't know if this is the best approach, but i couldn't figure out how to publish more than one microphone in the same stream.Well the problem is that the first stream is created successfully, but when the other user create the second stream channel, it's suddenly unpublished. I used the admin area of the FMS to see what's happening and i saw that the other stream is created but without a publisher and the client that should be publishing is with an idle status. The clients often receive a "NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW" code when the second stream is created.Is this a limitation of the FMS Development version or should i use another approach to im
