So, Adobe is making me buy another? I was having no problem with Acrobat until I changed computers and am now being told Adobe took it away from me. I'm used to Acrobat 8 and do not want to change, but Adobe's making it's customers? I wouldn't make be so upset, but I'm now being told I have to pay $180/year to keep using it? I BOUGHT A PRODUCT!!!! I DIDN'T RENT IT!!!! ADOBE = MONOPOLY?

I have changed computers and moved all my original programs to my new one without a problem, until it came to Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I got out the original box & DVD, started to install it and it asked for my serial number. I got it off the back of the box and everything was fine. But when Acrobat started the first time, I was told it had to be activated online, so I tried to activate it, but it would not connect to anything. I then tried to find some help online, but could only find messages from other people that had the same problem. The only response I found was that Adobe no longer accepted it, even though they made it where the program had to be accepted to be able to use for more than 30 days. So, am I to understand that I paid for a program a while ago and have used for years and now that I've changed computers and reinstalled it, it has a lock on it that the company made, so that I can no longer use it and I will (WOULD) have to buy another? That's like buying a new car and being told that if you didn't buy another within 10 years, the new one you're buying will no longer start after 10 years.
Someone tell me I'm wrong.
Adobe is going to try and make me buy another product?
Please tell me I'm wrong, but am I to understand that Adobe has taken back the program that I bought because I have not paid for a year by year upgrade. I like what I have/had!!! Am I now being forced too buy another one, even though there's nothing wrong with the one I bought? Why do I have to change when I like what I've been using for the past years?

I have over 100 PDFs that all need the same list of Bookmarks. The Bookmark destinations are not all the same, but the same Bookmark titles are needed in each PDF. I'm just spending a good amount of time adding the Bookmarks, titling them and then setting their destinations in each of these PDF's. Is there a way to make a "file" with the list of Bookmarks that I can import to the PDF's or am I stuck having to do it for each one? I understand that I would have to reset, or create their destinations, but adding 14 Bookmarks for each of these PDF's and then titling them the same is giving me a headache. Thanks By the way, I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.

I am resizing photos from 300dpi to 72dpi. I have learned to open one of the photographs in the folder, create/record the action -- Resize, save and then stop the recording to save the action. Well, create a new action, title it and then record while I resize the photo, save it & a jpeg options window pops up. I make the selection and the file is saved and closed. I then stop the recording. It works great, but I have started running into a problem with certain photos. I will go to a folder to resize the photos. Select the folder and it starts fine, but after it finishes resizing certain photos, the same jpeg option window pops up and you have to hit enter to finish the resizing. So, I'm basically sit in front of my computer hitting enter multiple times. What can I do to have this action part of the action I created? I have tried recording the action several times, but nothing stops the jpeg options window to pop up. Photoshop 7 - I've had this version of Photoshop since college and have never upgraded. I'm sure the updated versions have more actions and can be easier to use, but I've worked with this one for years and have never needed to upgrade. I am also using Windows and not Apple. Those directions are confusing when you're using Acrobat 8.0 Professional. Is there any other info like that for 8.0?

I have a booklet that is in Chinese. When these pages were scanned, not all of the text was perfectly vertical/horizontal, some of the pages were not scanned and it left some of the text at an angle. So, when I run the OCR Text Recognition, it will automatically rotate the pages so the text is horizontal. This erases part of the page and leaves the corners white. How can I run the OCR Text Recognition without it moving/rotating any of the pages? In the attached PDF, the first page is the original and the second page is after OCR Text Recognition has run. How can I prevent this, but still run OCR? Thanks, Sean Before OCR After OCR You can see the after OCR PDF was turned about 2-5 degrees counter clockwise. I want to OCR without turning.

I started to get this error message and can no longer use Acrobat 8 Professional. I will open a file and after about 5 seconds, this error message will pop up: I will click OK and it will shut down. I tried to just click the "X" and it does the same. What is causing this and what do I need to do to fix it? Photoshop works fine. I have tried un-installing it and then re-installing it, but nothing has changed? Please help. Thanks, Sean

Hello - I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 and I have run into a problem that started a couple of days ago. My computer works fine, but whenever I start Acrobat, after about 5 seconds, it will freeze and give me an error message that reads: --------------------- Runtime Error Program: C... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. --------------------- It will then shut down. I no longer have the original CD, but found that I could download the program at https://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/acrobatpro/documentation.html. So, I copied the serial number I found, uninstalled Acrobat Pro 8.0, downloaded the program I found and started the re-installation, but when it asked for the serial number and I put it in, it tells me: --------------------- Invalid Serial Number. This is not a valid serial number. Please go back and re-enter your serial number. --------------------- I don't know if it matters, but I do remember that when I was uninstalling the program, it was telling me something about returning the serial number "e-???". I figured it was returned, but that when I reinstalled the program, I could reuse it. What are my options to get my Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 reinstalled? I am running with Windows 7.0, Home Edition, Service Pack 1, 3.0 bit. I am now stuck with no Acrobat and can no longer edit my PDFs. Please help me reinstall this program ASAP. Sean

I have a PDF document of a scanned book and some of the edges have a black boarder where the scanner scanned a little larger than the actual page. Is the there a way I can fill 0.075" of all the boarders white and have all of the pages be full, without black margins on some? How can this be done? I know I can crop the pages, but I'd rather just fill the edges of the pages. Thanks for your help, Sean

It works, but it looses all of the font information and the search no longer works. How can you do it savint the font info so the search tool continues to operate?
