Adobe Premiere Pro working station // Hardware and GPU
Hi' to all,
Now that we have egpu solution easily availaible and tested by the users, it would be nice to have a quick reference/survival guide for Premiere Pro hardware :
Is Cuda still better than Open CL for Premiere Pro and AME ?
Does Cuda help for playback ?
It seems it can debayer RAW formats like R3D or cDNGs, but what about h264 ?
Is Encoding / decoding still only CPU ?
How does the RAM (not VRAM) impacts the playback or general use of Premiere Pro ?
Best RAM Setting in PP ?
How egpu is handled by Adobe Premiere Pro ?
What about computer already equipped with internal GPU ?
Will there be an option to choose GPU ? Use multiple GPU ?
Mixing AMD and Nvidia ?
Is TB2 too low to have an efficient use of PCIe Cards Or botllenecked bandwith ?
And what about TB3 ?
What is the best location for Media Caches ?
Separated drive should be better but what is best second option ? System drive (assuming it's an SSD) or on media drive ?
Is SSD storage good for handling large file ?
Do stripping SSDs on Raid 0 have a positive impact on speed ? On Sata/Pcie ? On TB2 or 3 ?
On the same computer Resolve have much better playback than Premiere.
Is due to GPU usage ? RAM usage ? CPU usage ?
What is better "performance" speaking ?
Video preview via Blackmagic or Kona video card ?
Video preview via fullscreen on a 2nd computer monitor
Thanks to all !
