After Effects machine build up

Hello,

I'm building up a machine. I'm going to use that machine mostly for After Effects, CC and Cinema 4D. I'm thinking to get a Core i7-6900K Processor (20M Cache, up to 3.70 GHz), 64Gb of RAM and EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION. I'm not sure about the graphics card though. Do you guys recommend something else like Quadro or Tesla rather than GTX ? my budget for the graphics card is no more than $700.

Thanks.

AE is mostly cpu based and normally won't use much of the video card. a gtx 1050 ti or 1060 6gb would normally be more than enough, but if you are using any gpu based plugins or rendering software then they might make use of a faster video card. it would depend on the third party software to determine what you would need.

most video software will use the gtx cards just fine. the gtx cards often run faster and can save alot of money over the quadro and tesla cards. there is suppose to be a price cut on the gtx 1080 in the next week as the gtx 1080 TI is released, so you might want to watch for price drops. if you are using very gpu heavy software that can benefit from the gtx 1080 ti, its suppose to be priced at $700, but will probably launch overpriced.
