Budget desktop for premier pro and after effects

Hello. Sorry I know nothing about forums so I hope I am posting correctly. I started using photoshop about two years ago and have since moved onto after effects and premier pro. My current computer seems worthless. It took me 2 hours to render 16 seconds of green screen footage. I am on a budget and looking for a new one. I know nothing about computer hardware and am just hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I spent close to an hour with best buy before they finally gave up and told me they couldn't help me. I have read all the specs and had sent them to them. I have emailed Dell but have not heard back from them. This is currently just a hobby but I really enjoy it and am considering taking it furthur. I don't do anything with 4k if that makes a difference. I would appreciate any help. Thank you. Gary

If you edit H.264 Nvidia's Nvenc and Intel's Quick Sync might be money well spent. I would wait to see what Intel's Alder Lake CPUs can offer when using Premeire Pro.

I build my own, but Newegg has ready made computers https://www.newegg.com/Desktop-Computers/SubCategory/ID-10?Tid=19096

Here are the reasons why the retailers and the manufacturers wouldn't help you much, if any:

    • Best Buy is in the business of making as much profit as it can from each prebuilt PC sale. As such, it will not sell you (or even carry) a system at any reasonable price point that's perfectly suitable for your needs: It sells only really cheap desktops that are barely an upgrade from your current system and decked-out gaming PCs that have too much bling and way overpriced for the performance that they deliver. And it sells far more laptops than desktops - but laptops are an even poorer value (read: more expensive) than desktops for the performance that they bring.
    • Dell offers way too many configurations that could have fit your needs - so much that it really, really demands that you be more specific than what you have provided thus far. In other words, without being more specific it would not recommend a system.

We are the same way, as well. Without telling us the resolution and video codec that you're working with and the hardware specs of your current PC we cannot recommend anything for your planned use.
