Buying new Windows tower

I am migrating from a laptop to a Windows tower computer. I want to start off with a configuration that should hold me for a few years, but I recognize that I can, for example, replace the video card with a newer model down the line. I have mainly used After Effects, Media Encoder and Illustrator, dabbled in Character Animator, and may get into Premiere Pro. I am increasing my use of these components, and may move into others. I want to find a reasonable line between cost and what the system will do with CC. I will likely spend 4 to 6 hours a day using the system I purchase. Some questions.

Human computer interface. I now do most of my work with touch screen, touch pad and keyboard. I plan to go from a 16 inch monitor to 24 inch. Is it reasonable to expect that I can continue with touch pad and touch screen, or is a mouse more effective?

Video card. I will go with something from NVIDIA due to the need for OpenCL compatibility. Likely from the GeForce RTX line. Cost here is a big factor. How many years will the GeForce RTX 3060Ti be effective before it needs to be replaced?

Monitor. Does a 24 inch monitor work well for CC? Is larger better? Smaller? What should my goal be with response rate, refresh rate and resolution? How does eye strain factor into this? TN, VA, IPS or something else? Aspect ratio? G-sync, vsync, freesync? Curved screen?

Processor. I believe that this is where I should get something close to the top of the line as it cannot be easily replaced. I'm leaning towards Intel Core i9 12900K. (I've been using Intel since Apple II times and will stay with Intel) Will this likely be CC compatible for at least 5 years?

RAM. Is it workable to start with 32 GB as long as slots are available to increase to 64 GB in the future? Should expansion-capable to 128 be the goal?

Secondary storage. How important is a solid state drive (SSD)? Is 500 GB reasonable for the SSD and 1 terabyte for the hard disk? Am I correct in thinking that an optical drive is virtually useless?

Windows. It looks like 11 is not as compatible with CC than 10. It is hard to find 10. Can I buy 11 and immediately go back to 10? Pro vs. Home version?

The final question. What have I not asked that I should have?

It's good for backups.

I would go with Windows 11 if you want to be more future-proof.

Unless you need the Windows features of Pro, get Home.

I build, not buy... so this is only an example of what works for ME

Video card prices were WILD when I built, so a faster/more ram video card may be what you want

What I have (home built Jan 2021) - My computer has zero problems

Windows 11 Pro 64bit - runs all of my programs, I doubt you can find Win10 now
