Question

Can you use Integrated Graphics (Intel i5-54570, HD Graphics 4600) for video editing?

Hello all! I am starting my career with Premiere Pro and as some may know, the GPU supply chain is all sorts of wacky. I was wondering if I could use Intel INTEGRATED HD Graphics to edit video? The top I'll be doing is 1080p 30fps. Thanks in advance!

It is now too old to be compatible with any newer version of Premiere Pro. In fact, for Premiere Pro 2020 or 2021 you will have to completely disable all hardware acceleration and use software-only everything, which will put you at the mercy of a CPU that's woefully inadequate by today's standards.

You see, Intel had completely discontinued all mainstream support for all 4th- and 5th-Gen Intel Core CPUs back in 2017. That meant that there had been no compatibility fixes or new feature support for these older iGPUs at all since then, while only critical security patches continued.

Thanks! SO would something like an i510th gen or later work?

It would work, but you will need a new motherboard and new DDR4 RAM (as opposed to the DDR3 RAM that's in your current system) in order for that CPU to work at all.
