Capable Editing PC Specs

Hi Forum (Moderator please move this topic to hardware forum thank you)

I'd like for PC hardware enthusiast to share their specs with me. I'm currently doing my research for a new PC build by the end

of this year or start next year. I'd like to see what specs users of Premiere and after effects use in their builds, which can endure heavy projects

animation, rendering, 4k vids, and typically speaking a PC which can handle a load full of task. My budget would be $5000 USD. Please reply to me if

you already have a system which does the work on a daily basis and you are an industry professional, not what you would build if you were to build a new system worth 5k.

Thank you.

IMHO it's all about how the components work together, not as much as how much RAM you have.

    For example,

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (quite old by today's standards) with Intel i7 6650U, 16GB of RAM, SSD and Intel Iris 540 GPU and it's much faster than iMacs with the same specs at my work...

I can easily throw anything at it, FullHD, 4K you name it and it's "flying as a kite"

Do bear in mind that for the best performance you should be running all your project files and your project from a seperate drive from your OS and Premiere. I use an external Samsung T5 SSD - super fast!

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Although it sounds like a sturdy little system the Microsoft Pro 4, I wouldn't be putting my trust into it since I'm doing after effects intro using 3D Objs with element 3D and use endless plugins importing into Premiere and doing various long runs wedding vids, colour correction and what not. if the Pro 4 does the magic for you, that's great, but since I have the budget I'll be looking to a PC build for the long run.

    Kind regards.

I totally understand. No hard feelings

Get as much RAM as you can and make sure you run your system on SSD and keep project files and clips on a seperate SSD. This will help.
