Those two choices are very similar so it’s hard to recommend one over the other, and unfortunately neither would satisfy you for very long with pro video applications. They are both Intel Core i5 with four cores each and integrated graphics — a lot like my previous laptop, which I no longer find suitable for video editing. Generally, a good laptop for video editing with today’s applications tend to have at least one of the following, preferably more than one: 8 CPU cores, discrete graphics (to take advantage of GPU accelerated features, and reduce the load on the CPU), and a 12th generation Intel CPU or later. At the price point of those laptops you might achieve one or maybe two of those features.

The list of laptops below might help, though again you will have to exclude the models that are well above your budget. I have no connection to the website below and do not endorse it, it was simply something that turned up in a web search and looked useful enough.

Thank you so much, Conrad! This is very helpful. I ended up not buying either of the laptops I chose initially. Thanks so much for the list!
