Feedback please for new video editing system

Hey guys,

I am building my first AMD System for 4K Videoediting. I've been around with Intel for years and now trying the following AMD setup:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16x 3.40GHz
Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3
ASUS PRIME X399-A OR MSI X399 SLI PLUS AMD X399
Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus (Files/cache)
Samsung SSD 960 Pro (OS)

8 x 8 GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4-3000 DIMM CL15 Quad Kit
(Shall I sell it and get 4 x 16 or 2 x 32 GB ? Will it give me better performance? What MHz and latency would you recommand?)

6GB EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 FTW+ Aktiv
(it is a bit older though. Will it be a bottleneck? I am not gaming. But need GPU for color grading and GPU relevant effects. What would alternatively a good CPU option?)

850 Watt Corsair RMx Series RM850x Modular 80+ Gold
(Also a bit older. Will it run fine my setup in terms of power consumption)

I might plan a little OC on that system.

    More memory channels always provides more bandwidth, go with the 8x8 unless price is an issue. 

    The GTX 1060 should be sufficient for non-RAW 4K workflows. 

    As far as the CPU goes, Premiere Pro and After Effects have not made good use of many cores for a couple versions. I would recommend you focus more on the maximum clock speed than the core count.       That report is from 2017 so I am wondering how things haave changed until today. Actually the AMD 1950X performs pretty great against the i7 in that article. I main going is to have good playback and operations when editing 4K footage.

      If you can get the 1950X for a good price since it's couple years old go for it, but I would recommend the newest processor possible because Adobe has recently added the system requirement to have a "6th generation Intel core processor or equivalent" and that will probably progress over time. I checked Puget's latest tests and they show the 2950X and i9-9900K being the best performance per cost. The performance difference between the two will depend on how much you utilize After Effects and third party plugins.
