Hardware Advice for a laptop for Premiere Pro

Hello there!

I'm currently interested in purchsing a laptop, specifically the "Framework Laptop" if anybody is familiar with it. I'm looking to hopefully use it for some light editing on the go as needed, and I am curious if you guys have any advice for me if the specifications for it are suitable enough.

The laptop would have an i7-1165G7 and 32gb(2x16gb) 3200mhz RAM (can be configured all the way up to 64GB but I'm currently shooting for 32gb for budget reasons)

For comparison, I do all of my editing on my desktop PC, which currently which has an i7 7700k, GTX 1070, and 16gb(2x8gb) of 2133mhz RAM.

The plan for me is to upgrade my desktop PC significantly and do all of my heavy duty editing there as well as most if not all of the actual exporting, but having a laptop that can do some light editing (ideally with HD but also some 4k footage) would be a big bonus for me, so I am just wondering if the specs of the Laptop I mentioned are (at least) comparable to the specs of my current desktop, and if not would it still be suitable?

I edit using Adobe Premiere Pro 2022, thank you for any and all advice or help.

The Framework laptop looks like it provides the Intel Xe integrated graphics that come with its Intel CPU. It should work, just be aware that the Premiere Pro system requirements recommend 4GB graphics memory with a minimum of 2GB, but the most graphics RAM that Intel Xe can take from system memory is only 2GB. This will probably limit features that support graphics acceleration, compared to the much better discrete GTX 1070 graphics in your other computer that has 8GB of its own graphics memory.

What hard drive(s) for the laptop?

Will you be using external drives?

Drive for the laptop will be either a 500gb or 1TB SSD, SN750 or SN850 NVMe WD

External Drives are a high probability, yes.
