Hardware requirements for PC use

Our company does not allow MACs, sadly, so I am going to be using this on a Dell laptop. I'm being asked by my IT group what requirements are recommended to ensure the speed and efficiency needed to run programs like Premier Pro smoothly. It can take hours currently to use the program both on our network as well as the laptop alone.

Can anyone recommend specs to run all Adobe Creative Suite programs optimally?

    Read the system requirements for every application you plan to use and allow extra resources for Creative Cloud desktop app, Adobe fonts, your operating system and other equipment.

    Personally, I'd prefer a rugged desktop over a laptop any day.  With video editing, you need a fast CPU, a good chip, plenty of SSD hard disk space, lots of RAM and a really good video card.  See related discussion below in the PP hardware forum.
