Question

How long will my computer’s graphics card be supported?

Hello,

I am in need of purchasing a new computer as adobe recently stopped supporting the graphics card in my older dell laptop. Before buying something new (likely an older MacBook to work on for now) I wanted to make sure this problem didn't occur again for at least a while so I can save up for something newer. Will a 15" MacBook Pro 2013/14/15 still be supported for a while? As far as the graphics card goes, everywhere I look it just says "integrated GPU" with no specifics. So if possible, I'm also asking for any details on what is already installed.

thank you!!

It will occur again in the near future. Even the 2015 MacBook Pro will be entering the "Vintage" support phase at Apple itself in a few months. And the 2013 models will be downgraded further to "Obsolete" status within the next 12 months.

You see, Apple's support policy is fairly simple: Five years after a particular model's discontinuation, support will be depreciated to "Vintage" status, while after seven years out of production, it will be downgraded further to "Obsolete" status. In some countries, a product will be downgraded straight to "Obsolete" status (with absolutely no "Vintage" level in between) after five years out of production.
