HP ENVY CURVE 34 for Video Editing

hi all,

I’ve been going back or forth on whether to buy this AIO desktop or to do custom built for video editing. I’m pretty new at this so custom built seems a bit daunting and i wouldn’t know exactly what to get.

Can someone chime in if the HP Envy would be adequate for Adobe Premier? Below are the specs for this desktop:

Intel® Core™ i7-7700T (2.9 GHz, up to 3.8 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

16 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)

Hard Drive : 2 TB 5400 rpm SATA

2nd hard drive: 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD

This would be a refurbished computer for $1600. That’s around the budget I would like to stay around. Thanis in advance!!

Mainly just 1080p , it’ll just be for personal use , editing my gopro or drone videos. Thanks for your input!

It may work if you use proxies and make the upgrades suggested.

5400 RPM drives are too slow.  Replace it with a 7200 RPM drive.

    More RAM would be better.

What type of media will you be editing?
