What is the ideal RAM amount for running Lightroom, Photoshop, and InDesign simultaneously along with Word, and Outlook?

If you can get 32GB of RAM, go for 32! I'll add that I am running 16GB of my MacBook Pro without any issues and I typically run at least Photoshop and Lightroom at the same time. However, I will definitely not be getting any less than 32GB on my next machine!

The time taken to start an app also depends on other factors. Do you have an SSD or ultra fast hard drive, or more than one, for example? RAM is very important, but not the whole story.

If you're planning a new computer I wouldn't get less than 32 GB. There isn't an ideal as Photoshop will happily make use of as much as you give it.

This is an existing desktop with 2 monitors. I have 8 gb RAM on a Dell Windows 10 and it takes forever for programs to open. I was wondering if upgrading to 16 gb of RAM will speed things up for me. Will I be able to see a difference? should I get 32 gb instead?
