Integrated graphics enabled or disabled?

Question

That is the question. Can Premiere and After FX benefit for having both dedicated and integrated graphics enabled at the same time or will one mess with the other?

I recently talked to a support person on AMD and he recommended that I disable the integrated graphics on my intel 9700K. But then I saw a video by this guy saying I should have both enabled, so I'm confused 🤔 🤔

Leave both of them turned on. iGPU is used to decode video files when you scrub or play on timeline. This gives smooth playback. Turning off will make it choppy. Paul

Normally, I would leave both GPUs on. However, if your discrete GPU also uses OpenCL for GPU acceleration (such as an AMD Radeon GPU), then there is a good chance that the two will conflict with one another. If you disable the integrated graphics, the H.264 and HEVC decoding will be switched to the discrete GPU or the CPU - both of which cannot handle playback of such video as smoothly as Intel's QuickSync does.

And this assumes that your Intel IGPU driver isn't of a version that breaks QuickSync when a discrete GPU is installed (the last two DCH drivers specifically for the 11th through 13th Gen Intel CPUs, versions 3430 and 3729, unfortunately left QuickSync support broken with a discrete GPU installed, rendering the system as if the integrated GPU were disabled to begin with).
