iPhone X High efficiency not compatible with Premiere Pro CC 2018?

Hello,

I wanted to play around with some video footage I took today. I am able to import it into Premiere, but when I drag it into the timeline, Premiere crashes.

It seems to work when I turn off high efficiency in the iPhone settings, but that disables 1080p240fps and 4k60fps. Usually I would just use 1080p60fps, but using the other formats from time to time would be great without having to worry about it.

Anyone got an idea?

I am having a similar problem. I was able to get Premiere to work if I converted my clip to MP4 using a media converter program. You can get a free trial download to try it out, but the trial version puts a watermark on your video. They cost around $30-35. I haven't been able to find any really free programs.

I also had another problem with my Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal for my iPhone XS.. Their XY interface app scrambles the label for the clip and Windows 10 pro won't transfer it to my PC. I had to use another media transfer program to get it to work.

Handbrake will convert your videos for free.

It's quite annoying and time consuming to have to convert every single video I take with my iPhone Xs Max just to use it on Premiere Pro.

It's only compatible on Mac, not Windows.

While this would make sense, I just got it to work once without crashing. I don't exactly know what I did differently. But after restarting Premiere and trying it again, it crashed again.
