Is it worth getting an AMD GPU Nowadays for premiere pro?

Adobe just released a new premiere pro version which claims that it works better with AMD GPUS. Does that mean AMD GPUS are equivalent to Nvidia GPUS for premiere pro nowadays?

Going back to that 14.4 beta that I mentioned:

It does not actually improve the performance of the Radeon GPUs at all. It merely fixes the quality bugs so that you will not get green stripes all over the preview image or the renders/exports. In other words, while the image will be far less buggy, the performance of even the RX 5700 XT will remain no faster than a cheaper GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER in Premiere Pro.

That is the new 14.4 beta. The official release remains at 14.3.1 at the present time.

If that is the case: Please discuss beta software on the appropriate forum, not here.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thank you. The official release of Premiere Pro has been stuck at 14.3.1 for a few weeks now. And beta software shouldn't really be discussed at all in the main Premiere Pro forum, which is for assistance on the already officially released versions (not betas).

It's mostly a personal preference, but I could never recommend that. The CUDA implementation with Nvidia is far better than metal or opencl.

You might check over on the Video Hardware too ...
