Is the Quadro K5000 usable right in 2018??
Hi Guys,
My specs:
CPU - 3930k - usual OC @ 4.1ghz
Mobo-P9X79 Pro
SSD - Samsung 850 pro 512gb
- 2 more caviar black storage drives
GPU - 650 ti boost
I have been using the GTX 650ti boost for years, and I think this is a bottleneck right now. I have had issues with the GPU error message when trying to export while MPE cuda on. I think that a new card would be a nice improvement right now. With cryptomining, GTX cards are at a ridiculous all time high. I have been searching around and saw that a Quadro k5000 with over 1300 cuda cores was around $500. This seems to be better than the other cards I have seen. But is it good? I know it has lower clock speeds than the GTX cards like the 1050 and 1060, but much higher cuda cores and 4gb of VRAM. Is more cores better?
If not what card should I get in this crazy market. I know I should wait but my work issues are starting to give me no option but to start upgrading.
Would a workstation GPU like this be better now that GPU prices have risen?
Thanks
