Laptop faster than my desktop?
Lately I have just been a slow down on my Desktop computer, which is equipped with an i7-5820K, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, and many SSD's.
Though my Laptop has an i7-7700HQ, 16GB RAM, and a GTX 1060. But when editing in either Premiere Pro, or After Effects, it feels that
If doing things such as scrubbing on the timeline, doing renders on the timeline, and just previewing footage feels faster, and smoother
From my Laptop, and I am unsure why?
I know that my Laptop has a newer generation processor, which I get, but I don't think that would make much of a difference when compared to
My Desktop. However, the only HUGE difference between my Desktop and Laptop is that my Laptop has a 250 GB PCIe SSD has the boot drive,
and my Desktop just has an 850 Evo, however the Media is always being previewed from an External Hard Drive, or another internal 850 Evo.
Lately I have tried doing everything that I could possibly think of to try and speed up the performance of my Desktop, which would be hard to list all of the
Various things, such as changing different settings, reinstalling, and various windows configurations as well.
But, if there is something else I could try, or if it is really time for that processor upgrade to a new generation, please let me know.
