Hey there,

I am planning to buy an Asus Vivobook with the specs of intel i5-8265U, 8GB ram, Nvidia mx250 GPU.  Is it enought to edit videos in premiere pro and after effects?

Thank you all for the answers. Than could you recommend me a laptop under 1000$ or is it impossible?

Pretty much impossible. Every single laptop under $1000 has too little RAM, too weak of a CPU, too weak of a GPU or any combination of those. You will need to spend over $1500 to get a laptop that meets the practical recommended minimum for any type of video editing at all whatsoever.

I echo Peru Bob. Not recommended at all. You see, newer versions of Premiere Pro are a lot more RAM-intensive than ever (in fact, you need a lot more than 8 GB of free, unused RAM just to avoid Premiere Pro choking during editing or exporting), while none of the MX-series GPUs have a hardware encoder at all. This will cause major stability issues with the current build of Premiere Pro (14.2), to the point that you will have to do a lot more tinkering just to get that system to even export anything at all, especially H.264 and HEVC.
